While sounding very pleasant on the telephone if you are a potential renter I would avoid dealing with anyone from this company They seem keen to sign you up so you re on their books and this looks good to potential landlords presumably but if you want to know about a property they re not going to be much help They don t seem to know the properties on their books and so can t answer your questions The Online Letting Agents want you to sign up and go and view If you have to travel a long distance and or take time off work etc to make a viewing which will be a waste of time that s not their problem If you ask a relevant question about a property and of course there are many questions which are make-or-break when you re considering renting a new home The Online Letting Agents act surprised and as if you re being rather a nuisance They just want you to shut up and go and view so they look good to the landlords on their books The agency is also closed on bank holidays when of course people have the chance to hunt for a new home Even in office hours they frequently have the answerphone on so you can t get through to anyone - and they re slow to respond to e-mails Any time you speak to an agent you get a different story there are children in the nearby properties there aren t children etc Finally you may well be chasing a property which is already under offer - but no one will tell you that A frustrating experience which will squander a considerable amount of your time Not worth your time - which will be wasted Update The company s response see below to say the least differs wildly from what actually happened

The agents were very helpful and did not mind the back and forth we have had with them however I found the experience to be somewhat stressful as we had to deal with a third party referencing company who did not work at the same hours as the Online Letting Agents which caused some friction and delays to our application process It also meant that information was delayed in getting to us or so it seemed and with a fast turnaround wanted by both our new Landlord and ourselves it made me feel quite pressured for time and I had to chase information from the agents not their fault I found the agents easy to talk to and very helpful when I had questions I appreciate what this company is trying to do as I like that we are in contact with our Landlord directly and will be able to have a good relationship with him as we move into our new home All in all it was an OK experience dealing with the Online Letting Agents and I would likely recommend their services I just wish there was an easier referencing process- but then I assume it s not much better elsewhere

System worked well enough and the advert when live very quickly Unfortunately potential tenants are put off by fees which are not transparent Why can t the fee be shown on the advert so at least the process is transparent and open instead of what looks like there is something to hide There could also be an explanation that the fee also prevents frivolous enquiries Fees are a lot more than the cost of reference checking which tenants see as unfair
