If it hadn t been for David Clark I would not have refinanced with American Financial The agent that was SUPPOSED to be helping me Naaman Birkdahl was no help whatsoever In fact I found him to be offensive I had to pay two appraisal fees because he didn t feel the need to do his job This is my sugar coated feelings about him so I won t continue Mr Clark went above and beyond to get the deal done and if he hadn t been such a help to me I would have gone with the VA loan that I was pre-approved for David Clark is the sole reason I went with your company you owe this business to him and him alone You guys need to pay closer attention to what your agents are doing they have probably lost you a lot of business Doing business with me is a very good deal for your company I am a more than reliable customer of yours and you owe my business to David Clark I gave you two stars but he is definitely a 5 star agent

In the end we got our house but the weeks leading up to it were filled with uncertainty and utter confusion as we were barely ever given actual answers to our questions Most responses were cookie cutter and drab Some basic math wasn t being done right Takes forever to get a closing disclosure that has everything correct on it And still management assures you that your hourly rep isn t overburdened and that he us a great guy I would ask questions and never get an actual response I wouldn t reccomend American Financing to anyone I know even though I did get my home just the headache that lead up to it was almost back out and restart worthy Especially when you get a clear to close and less then 24 hours till closing you get told its pushed Other reviews will be following

I feel I was mislead I was told I would have two months with no payments but then I was told just one month I was told I would have a lower closing cost at closing about 1000 and then I didn t see it at closing

There was very little communication between Amber Veronica and the underwriting We had to submit the same documents multiple times to different people We received a clear to close from Veronica and Amber had no idea when we were closing This pushed back our closing and caused a lot of stress for us and our realtor We have great credit scores of over 800 and plenty of cash reserves and were doing a conventional loan and some things were still a hassle I gave 2 stars because this should have been an easy mortgage to do Communication is fine until you sign on then it goes downhill

Very poor communication between lender agents and title company I was a new home buyer and definitely did not feel comfortable with my experience I overpaid on the house and wasn t given very many homes to look at Lender and agents are only based out of Denver They do It have the proper knowledge to be showing houses outside of their area I will not be referring any friends or family in the future

They sat on my refi for over a month with no action 72 hours before closing I signed off on the closing details and agreed to a set monthly payment 48 hours from closing the insurance company called and said I had to agree to higher insurance coverage in order to close Then 24 hours before closing American Financing called and said in order to close they had to add on more cost which in total increase my monthly payments by 170 after the signed agreed amount

I did not enjoy my experience with American Financing My agent Colleen Hall made me feel insignificant as she told me on numerous occasions she didn t have the time to discuss things with me because she had other folks to help Finally after speaking to her manager I was able to get explanations and he took his time with me In the end I can t really recommend these folks based on their poor customer service Plenty of providers out there so I would consider looking around

Started out really well then over the time people for get you for get what they promise you become a loan in line especially after the appraisal process then it truly changed because then the threat of we ll bill you 775 00 not to impressed Payton Manning obviously never had a loan here Paid spokesmen pretty typical of most company s Managers and supervisors were like dealing with a used car salesperson But we made it through I think

I used American financing a few years ago and everything was so smooth and painless The person working on my loan this year wasn t as great She took a long time asking questions I ve already answered for her gave me false hope in the amount I d be qualified for honestly wasted a lot of time Also a million different people were calling my phone from American financing for weeks All asking for the same information that I already provided to someone else Very annoying waste of time difficult This is not the same painless process it was a few years ago

I would not use a financing company that does not give a curtesy call and let you know your loan was not moving forward or respond to a status update email No call no email no follow up nothing Really appreciate that
