Terrible experience and still waiting on refund from double charge
Firstly they only specified that we needed a credit card with balance We had balance of 30 000 but they wanted 60 000 We had that on a debit card but they would only take credit We were not told of the amount needed before arriving to arrange this We could not pick up the car so we had to leave the airpot 1 5 hours from destination pay a taxi and rebook Rebook price was higher and when I completed booking they emailed me to say it hasn t been paid properly so took details again I paid again and then saw I had been charged twice I m now waiting on two refunds and its been more than 10 days I called about this and they refused to help hanging up on me I will never use Hertz again in my life

We do not have your car
Sorry - we do not have your 7 person car available BUT I was booket 1 month ahead and we had besides that emailed with them Extremely stressfull to be standing there with 4 kids and have planned the planetrip so we could drive to town before dark No explanation and no real excuse I was so frustrated and angry OK Rent a Car helped my later with the precise same car for the 20 day rental same terms and I saved around 1 000 US Hertz where 50 more expensive

Nothing short of a scam
Two experiences with car rentals with Hertz in Mexico In the first one we had a confirmed reservation but arrived in Cabo San Lucas to simply be told by the attendant at the Hertz desk that they did not have a car for us and forcing us to rent from another agency at double the price we had reserved The second was being told that it was mandatory for me to purchase additional insurance that was not necessary given that the rental agreement includes basic liability and my credit card covers property damage to the vehicle CDL LDL Completely disreputable operation

DO NOT RENT WITH HERTZ they will ripp-you off I booked a car with Hertz online for Hertz Villahermosa Airport they had a 65 off promo But impossible to find the cost for insurance I figured it will be about the same than other rental company When I arrived at the airport they were out of the car I asked for and upgraded me at extra cost That cost plus insurance cost I end-up with a cost of rental 4 times my original cost other rental company were closed I felt coerced and robbed Never again with Hertz

A complete scam
A complete scam This company should be subject to a criminal enquire I rented a vehicle and when I turned in they added a surcharged on my AMEX card allegedly for insurance I notified AMEX and I got my money back Do not rent from these scammers

The worst place to rent a car
The worst place to rent a car I made a reservation 3 months before and even paid in advance but when I got there they told me they didn t have any cars at all I had a very hard time to get a rental after that because I didn t had any other reservation and when I finally found one it cost double as much this happened at the airport in guadalajara I will never rent from them again

Avoid We booked online and paid upfront to hire a standard car over a month in advance Upon turning up to collect it no car was available The staff in the office said it wasn t their problem and expected us to contact the call centre The call centre just offered to cancel our booking or waitlist us with no promise of a car Still waiting on refund from Hertz No apology offered on the telephone No attempt to provide any sort of service No real help Massive waste of time Went to Europcar on Reforma Sorted

Stay away I booked online and paid upfront for full size premium car 3 weeks in advance Upon turning up to collect it no car was available The staff in the office said it wasn t their problem and only offered to cancel my reservation or to get another vehicle and pay twice as much more in addition to what I had already paid The manager at the Guadalajara airport location was very rude No apology offered on the telephone and send me to an file a complaint online the only resolution was for them to send me a 1day rental coupon 5 minutes later which is ridiculous They wouldn t honor a prepaid reservation why would I think they would honor a stupid coupon No attempt to provide any sort of service No real help Massive waste of time

This company is an absolute SCAM after 6 months of renting a car with them they haven t given me my 200 dollar security deposit back even tho I ve literally harassed them in every possible customer service line and opened a ticket on a sketchy website they never respond to PLEASE IF YOU ARE RENTING A CAR IN CDMX I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU GO WITH ENTERPRISE HERTZ IS A TOTAL SCAM I HAVE NEVER FELT MORE BETRAYED AND ABUSED BY A COMPANY IN MY LIFE THEY RE THIEVES
