They don t want to sell houses

Estate agents that don t appear to be interested in selling houses Try to arrange viewings they take your details and don t bother calling back Chase them up they don t bother returning your call If you re looking to sell your house then I wouldn t put my faith in them if I was you

Near a year of leaking

I moved into a property that had leaks and doors hanging off The first leak was fixed after a week of dripping all in the bathroom There was damp in my fitted wardrobes which is from the bath leaking I moved in last October and this issue is still on going I have been more than passionate no duty of care for the people renting

Lack of transparency

Ramsgate Office Put an offer in for a property for the full asking price on the Friday evening I was not contacted the next day by anyone to give me feedback on my offer bear in mind they are open on Saturdays and I was assured that I would be called back the next day I chased Miles and Barr on Monday for a response to my offer Was called back in the afternoon by a reluctant sounding lady to inform me that my offer had been accepted Had a bad feeling about the whole thing considering their reluctance to contact me with a response to my offer and subsequent cold treatment on the phone when my offer was accepted Was called the next day Tuesday and told that another buyer had put in a substantially higher offer and this was accepted by the vendor as said buyer was a cash buyer I was not given the option to up my offer Please note I could and would have offered more if I had been asked to compete with another buyer Would the seller had been so keen on the cash buyer if I offered more than the cash buyer I wasn t given the option to get an answer to this question It s okay for me to be gazumped but not for me to do the gazumping My house is under offer and my buyers are renters so I m not in a particularly difficult to proceed situation I realise it s a seller s market in this area at the moment but I have been treated disingenuously

Got The Keys Told Were Trespassing

It s funny how this company are keen to keep hassling you when your on the market but then go quiet when problems and after occur We bought a house from the Canterbury branch initially a good service they have a good sales progressor The issue came on completion we was handed the keys and an hour into moving in a call from the conveyancer advised we was trespassing and completion hadn t happened yet We got in touch with Miles Barr as surely they had some proof that this had occurred as if they did any due diligence they could show the confirmation and clear up quickly Well this become and cat and mouse game with them Our conveyancer asked the question they said they had an email but everytime we requested they tried to gloss over the request Clearly there was an issue here and they hadn t followed process I went to the branch and a resolution was not happening it took our conveyancer threatening legal action which is extremely rare for them No straight answers come the end of the day I emailed the manager there and received no response Once settled in my new home I emailed a couple of weeks later about collecting the sign still no email which would be a common courtesy Just to beware from a customer point they will be friendly to you but I feel you must be guarded as they most definitely do not have your best interests at hand

Good estate agent but need to improve adverts

Good estate agent but they really should learn to spell A property was described as being in a sort after area I contacted them about exactly the same error some months ago - they did not reply obviously took no notice This looks very poor reflects on their overall standards in my opinion

I purchased through Miles Barr

I purchased through Miles Barr no problem through the purchase process it was a relatively straight forward purchase I looked at a couple of properties with them and one young man from the Ramsgate Branch was particularly pushy about getting a mortgage with their own mortgage advisor when I already had one in place when I spoke to their advisor he said nothing I can do you are sorted out Apart from that people working there was all approachable and fine Trying to get them to take the For Sale sign down after purchase was painful they use a 3rd party I don t care who you use get it down

To Rent OR Not To Rent that is the question

Praise be to Jenny Harmes Miles Barr Lettings Manager Thanet I would have given up on the whole process of trying to rent a property through the Miles Barr agency - from being faced with a viewings agent who knew nothing about the property having been in the job for only 2 weeks to THE MOST torturous on-line application process dealing with The Lettings Hub an off-shore call centre blah blah blah - were it not for a phone call with Jenny Knowledgeable patient answered all my questions - no matter how often I repeated them - and set my mind at ease In this digital age why has renting a property become so difficult convoluted Our entire lives are on-line takes about an hour to check an individual s bona fides 10 days with Miles Barr Jenny I rate 4 The rest of the renting experience with M B 2 Average 3

Miles and Barr proved quite difficult

Miles and Barr proved quite difficult to get hold of several call to their lettings number went unanswered and promised call backs did not happen I finally got a call and arranged a viewing while waiting outside the flat I was called to say that there was a problem with the keys and they would have to cancel However this was rectified and I was finally shown round by Jake Chamberlain who was polite and courteous If he didn t know an answer to my question he said so rather than try and bluff his way through which I appreciated The flat was not for me in the end but I have nothing bad to say about the agent who showed it to me The agency itself came across as a bit disorganised but they got there in the end
