Excellent services
We chose NCL and the Norweigan Star based on reviews so hope our review helps others choose This was our first cruise for my 60th and we had high expectations The embarkation was not too bad bit of queuing involved which was to be expected but once we had our freestyle card we boarded the ship straight away Everyone was friendly and greeted us and this continued throughout the voyage Our luggage was in our room just before we sailed We had chosen a balcony cabin and which was compact but had everything including a small sofa and the balcony was a good size for 2 people The bed a very good size and comfortable The shower and toilet were good my partner is 6ft 2 and he managed OK in the space available The room was cleaned at least once a day in the morning and tidied again late afternoon by Arta who was friendly and cheerful loved the towel animals The Star may be one of the older ships but it was not obvious maintenance was ongoing and painting took place in areas during the voyage but this did not affect guests if they noted the signs The lit up Atrium looked wonderful and was everything we had hoped We only used the complimentary food areas and these were all good the Versaille was a lovely place to eat the waiting staff very attentive and friendly the food was wonderful The Garden cafe was busy but had plenty of selection all cooked well which pleased my partner who likes good size portions and you could take your plate out back to the H20 bar to eat which was quieter if you wished It didn t open 24 hours as stated but O Sheehans did so there was always somewhere to get food We had the inclusive package with drink and beverages and didn t need to spend anything on food and drink the whole cruise which was brilliant and gave me chance to try the different cocktails OK time for the negatives which were minimal the tendering system for shore excursions was not very well monitored Queuing started very early and some passengers took 20 or more tickets which meant waiting for later boats This would have been acceptable except those with later or no tickets were allowed to get on earlier boats if they turned up which was annoying when my partner had queued from 7 45am for the 8 30am allocation start time Secondly even though it was stated often over the speaker to not reserve sunbeds many guests laid out towels on the beds early in the morning one women was seen pegging out 12 towels and then did not use the beds until later in the day - this i felt was selfish and unfair There were enough beds on the ship for passengers but you had to walk around to hunt them down That s it negatives over Small details that made a huge impact were things like cold drinks and cold face towels when you returned to the port after a shore visit before you got back on the ship or tender boat These were most welcome and thoroughly needed Staff in all areas were friendly greeted you each time worked extremely hard and the washie washie girls and boys made you smile each time they offered their service hygiene was very good The entertainment was good and non-stop and the theatre shows were very good they all looked and sounded good and the costumes were wonderful There were food theme nights in the Garden cafe and themed music in the Bliss room as well as games and competitions Something for everyone The disembarkation was good and times given based on your flight time we were one of the last groups off and made the airport in plenty of time although the coach does have to park quite a way from the terminal but this was not NCL s fault they had plenty of staff directing passengers Overall it was a fantastic first cruise and we will definitely be sailing with NCL again as soon as we can save up The price may have seemed high but the value for money was good when you consider that everything you needed was included Thank you Norweigan Star for an unforgettable cruise for all the right reasons

One of the best by far
One of the best cruise companies that we ve ever travelled with The cruise staff - from the entertainment director to the restaurant waiters were absolute stars and so welcoming They really valued every single passenger and treated us as individuals The ship was immaculate and the itinerary was varied and catered for every kind of traveller They also had a great deal on offer for families on the ship too I really appreciated the fact that the cruise director took the time to personally say goodbye to the guests when we left the ship We went on NCL Jade and would definitely return Our maid for the cabin was actually the most friendliest person I d ever met and did an outstanding job at keeping the cabin clean and tidy The security staff were easily visible so you knew immediately where to go to if there was an issue I also appreciated the diverse and international atmosphere on the ship Worth every single penny in my opinion I always keep an eye on NCL cruise line s brochure when visiting the travel agents Thank you NCL for such a relaxing and memorable holiday - your staff are a real credit to you

First Cruise hopefully not the last with NCL
I took our Cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line in May 2015 we had a brilliant time if you have worries about stomach ailments forget them with Norwegian we found hand cleaning stations everywhere on board the cabin was unbelievable the bed was the most comfortable we had ever slept in our steward left a towel animal on the bed every day of our cruise our cruise began in Venice and took in the Greek islands we would love to go on another Cruise but this will take some time to save up for but our Balcony Cabin upgrade was a awesome experience The thing you have to remember with Norwegian Cruise is they Look after you better than any other Cruise line we would not consider cruising with anyone else the Crew were friendly and polite all the time the ship Norwegian Jade is a Jewel of the NCL Fleet no pun intended

Great customer service when I phoned in Regina and manager Debbie were so helpful and fixed the issue right away Looking forward to our next cruise and the past NCL cruises were awesome

Terrible admin marketing department
Terrible admin marketing department They keep sending mailshots to a deceased - yes DEAD - person despite me requesting them to stop loads of times They also have a corrupt databse with other people listed at our address so even more unwanted junk mail sent to us On phoning to get them to STOP sending their juk their service centre person reprimanded me for complaining about the unwanted mail What a cheek An email to H Sommer has gone un-answered as has a Subject Access Request for Data in accordance with ICO Regulations so far They will receive a substantial fine if they fail to comply with ICO Regulations Why doesn t everyone make a SAR Subject Access Request which they must comply with within 1 month by law That should keep them busy

Don t put down a deposit
We were encouraged to put a deposit down on a 2025 cruise in order to reserve our place on it Upon reflection we decided against going so cancelled In spite of the fact the cruise was still two years away we were then informed the 330 deposit was non-refundable under their terms and conditions It s a shame the sales agent didn t tell us that at the time of booking Feeling scammed and will never book a cruise with this company again

Just back from an Alaskan cruise
Just back from an Alaskan cruise very poor I would advise you to find a better cruise company hidden charges and all they want is to squeeze even more out of you The staff are all so nice but can only smile and welcome you you can t ask any questions as their English isn t good enough Missed ports food was poor rushed in some ports one we arrived at 8 pm till 11 pm so rushed and dark with most of the town closed We used Virgin last year and that was a 10 out of 10 this company gets a 0 out of 10 from me

So far NOT impressed
Have not cruised with them yet Going soon but so far the entire process of registration and checking in flight booking and all the admin has been nothing but short of a nightmare However they are available on chat and that is helpful Had a crazy And it seems the excursions are crazy expensive I will leave another review after we get back So far NOT IMPRESSED

Frustration with NCL administration
We were given 100 each compensation because of the lack of alcohol being served on NCL Star for 2 days on our trip to Ireland in May This was towards another cruise booking up until December 2024 not onboard credit I found it nearly impossible for this to be implemented on our recent cruise and spent hours on the phone 7 phone calls in total - each NCL employee agreeing the money was there - they did not want to deduct it from the price of our next cruise I had informed them that I wouldn t pay unless they took the money off but was told I would be liable to administration fees - eventually this was done but the stress was unbelievable I wonder if anyone else on that cruise had the same experience
