We ve a number of servers with OVH and sister company SoYouStart Always find them fast and well informed with responses We had an issue this morning which was resolved promptly with their guidance

I have a single cheapest option going VPS with OVH running ArchLinux My server was available within about an hour of ordering and has a fixed public IP address I don t require any customer support unless of course my server goes down I m merely using the VPS as a jump server I took an initial 1 month rental contract which only cost me a few quid - just to see what the service was like as there are loads of bad reviews for OVH However for what I need my OVH hosted server is great it provides me with a server somewhere in the cloud with a fixed public IP address which I can easily remote into from anywhere with an internet connection and configure

There are things people don t get about OVH They provide hardware and network This is where their responsibility ends To be fair they do an amazing job with that I had a disk failure on Christmas night a ticket was automatically logged they have a monitoring system and they replaced the disk within a couple of hours Another server developed a tendency to crash First time they replaced all the RAM 128 GB Next time they replaced the motherboard Next time they removed the disks and moved them to a different chassis The issue was fixed Note that they didn t spare any hardware human labour or cost to get it sorted When it comes to hardware and network these guys are very reactive because these issues are under their own responsibility I contacted them a few months ago because their installer was unable to deploy a certain Linux image on some servers They responded immediately deployed the image manually on my server then fixed the automatic installer I contacted them a few years about an IP that wasn t routing to my servers they fixed within a few hours etc However don t log support tickets about these topics - Your application is not compiling on your server- Your CPU is going to the roof- You lost your root password- Your emails to Gmail are bouncing - WordPress is showing PHP errors etc All these issues are yours and you need to be able to fix them or hire people to fix them for you OVH doesn t own these issues They control IDs when you open an account This is industry standard because of rampant fraud All providers would do that Some even call you home or send a letter to verify your address The OVH verification process is within the norm Refunds are usually refused This is also industry standard for all service providers It happened to me once to take a server and I wasn t happy with it It was an AMD and I felt the CPU wasn t that good for my project But I just cancelled the server and that s it I lost a month of server rental due to a bad decision on my end Overall if you understand what you are doing can manage a server without requiring assistance OVH is the perfect provider One of my servers with them had 5 years continuous uptime It was rented used for a project for 5 years then decommissioned without a single reboot from 2015 to 2020 Just know what you are doing If you need support with OS applications user experience go for a provider with fully managed solutions You would pay more indeed But with OVH you pay for hardware and network only That s why you get a lot for your bucks All the best for your projects

I have used OVH a few times over the years for different projects and always found the service outstanding With my latest server purchase I had some issues in wanting to change my OS licensing after making a mistake upon purchasing and committing to a year of the wrong server OS version than i needed it took a little back and forth in support tickets but got it resolved i managed to add a SPLA license and install the OS that i needed with a little guidance from the support team The only negative thing i could say about my experience is it would be a good addition to be able to change the OS license on a 12 month commitment to another continuing the commitment on a different OS without cancelling the service all together Support was really helpful and polite and understanding of my issue and worked well to find a resolve for me Highly recommended Great service

I have been with OVH for over 10 years now I have always found them to be the most reliable hosting company affordable pricing great hardware and performance Recently I have had a number of issues with my own organisation not directly linked to OVH at all The support have spent many hours helping me over the past few weeks and have really gone above and beyond to get my organisations issues sorted The level of support has been invaluable to be honest I have spoken to many different advisors and technicians over the past weeks and I have to say every single one was more than happy to help and go the extra mile Providing links to resources detailed explanations on the phone help checking logs etc I always recommend to my clients that they take a server with OVH Im not usually the one to make reviews I m far far too bust to be doing this but I felt compelled to do this due to the outstanding service I have received lately and this is my way of paying that back a little And also there are many many server companies out there that don t care about the customer and will not offer any level of assistance With OVH this is not the case You will be in good hands and their support team will always go above and beyond to help you out Thank you to all the OVH Team Support Accounts 2nd Level and the Sales Team that always manage to find me a server
