Misunderstanding

I never knew that the chip was just information being saved I figured it would have been tracking the location of the puppy as well However it isn t very bad since it builds a safer community

The product is great but I purchased it from the vet paid the vet to put it in and then in order to register it I had to pay more money I feel that is a bit excessive and expensive When I had it put in I did not realize I had to pay extra to register it I had one of my other dogs chipped with a different chip and did not have to pay any extra

I was very unprepared to have to pay for this service My cat was neutered by a wonderful TNR rescue group who are amazing The chip was included in the fee for the neuter and all we were told was to make sure to register the chip Someone needs to explain to the groups to advise that there s a fee for the service on the chip

Registration easy but edits not allowed

The process for registering my pet was nice and simple however I ran into one glitch that I cannot fix I accidently identified my cat as a Russian Shorthair and when I tried to correct it to a Domestic Shorthair the system would not allow me to edit Otherwise I would have given 5 stars instead of 3

once I registered my two dogs I realized I was being charged as a non-AKC dog rateThen I couldn t change registration form the breeder to me on AKC siteHave not had time to try to fix this

PetKey has been helpful as far as customer service goes I started out registration for a year then my cat went missing at the year mark I renewed for a lifetime registration hoping for a miracle that one day I ll get the call that her chip was scanned and she s coming home to me It s been 8 months now

The program sounds great and all But the way y all advertise makes it sound like the package is a whole lot bigger than it actually is Referring to the list of family of services Each and every one of those is an additional charge

Before getting the microchip we paid for it to be installed and we re never told about having to pay another fee on top of that
