Disappointing

Some months ago my family clubbed together and bought me a Celestron NexStar 5SE Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope on the internet This type of equipment has a glass disc the corrector plate in the middle of which sits the secondary mirror and which is mounted in annular brackets at the front end of the tube After the third occasion I d used it I decided to check the cleanliness of the corrector plate when I brought it back indoors It was only then I noticed that stuck on the inside edge of the corrector plate there appeared to be a small cereal grain husk or similar plant particle which must have unfortunately entered the tube during manufacture and was trapped inside I emailed Celestron support who had replied by initially asking me to remove the corrector plate to extract this particle I declined to do this as I did not feel confident enough about removing a vital part of a brand new and expensive piece of precision equipment While awaiting their further response which turned out to be as I d hoped i e that Celestron would rectify the matter under warranty I decided to find out whether Rother Valley Optics as advertised Celestron agents would carry out work of this nature on their premises My reason for wanting to establish this was that if they did and Celestron was happy to do a warranty repair I would have been quite prepared to drive the 40 miles to RVO and physically hand the telescope over rather than risk dispatching it by courier When I called them and explained the situation it was more than evident from the salesman s tone that when he realised the telescope hadn t been purchased from them they weren t going to be interested in looking at it He was I would say somewhat abrupt and was claiming that they were really too busy in their lab etc at the time In the end the telescope was collected and returned to Celestron who rectified the issue However I have to say that I won t be approaching Rother Valley Optics again Such a pity since it s my intention to advance my hobby by purchasing other telescope equipment and DSLR accessories and they would have been a convenient dealer to do business with I think it goes without saying that any future purchases certainly won t be from them

Not even sure where to start

Not even sure where to start I ve had nothing but terrible customer service and lies from this company Star Adventurer was faulty took 3 days for Adam to establish over e-mail that it was faulty and that I should send it back Was told that I could send it back and pay the difference to upgrade to a different mount Sent it back for next day delivery Phoned up to see if they d received it Was told Yes it s sitting right next to me so will be checked over either today or by Monday had to chase them again on the Monday wasn t even told the outcome of the mount but was told that the mount I wanted to upgrade to was out of stock but would be back in stock in the next couple of weeks I sent Adam an email within the e-mail chain we already had established He replied with Can you advise what mount it was that you d sent back completely forgotten what mount it was Try reading the e-mail chain Adam We re now into the 4th week and I still haven t received a call haven t received the new mount been refused a refund and have constantly had to chase them Every time I call I m given delay tactics We don t have stock yet it should be tomorrow Could be anytime now Try calling later today Will now be Monday every time being told to call another day another time with no exact date How can a company operate not knowing what they ve ordered when it s arriving and on what shipment I m without a mount and I am out of pocket and have been for 4 weeks I was refused a refund to a different payment method because it s Part of our company policy which if you read the terms and conditions on their website It isn t Either I receive a full refund or I will be going to a small claims court Will never deal with this company again

Poor Service

I ordered a pair of binoculars from this company I chose to buy from an independent business rather than a big company My payment was taken immediately and I received notification that they would be delivered two days later They did not arrive nor did they arrive the following day I tried to ring but the line was constantly busy I then emailed and received a response stating that they were out of stock I received this email as a response to my question and not because this information was offered without prompt The sender advised me that they could have them in stock within a few weeks but this was not guaranteed I then received a further email stating that they would be back in stock shortly During this time the item remained on the website as an in stock item I asked for a refund While I appreciate that things are very difficult at the moment I believe that it is not acceptable to allow someone to spend their money on an item that was not available I am so disappointed I had saved for these binoculars I have now chosen to buy from a high street shop

Worse company ever avoid at all costs

Worse company ever avoid at all costs members of staff discriminate customers when issues appeared to not be their fault Best to avoid and steer clear from this company dpd dumped my goods outside my house door and when I got to the door I could not find it I was not given an apology for how DPD just dumped my parcel even when there is photography evidence of this Very unprofessional I could not get camera to work so was entitled to return camera to get it checked I stated I would like a replacement but got a straight refund without no acknowledgement Again steer clear from this company very unprofessional that they did this my statement is honest and true I asked if I could buy another camera they said no they won t allow me to buy another one due to delivery issues Steer clear everyone don t buy from these people You ll only be disappointed by the service they provide they have 0 customer service

Stock Level Visibility Issue on Website

Was told on website it was in stock and would take between 2-3 working days to arrive Wasn t even in the country and had to be ordered from Italy Took over 3 weeks to get to me

Do not deliver

I ordered an item consisting of two parts from RVO which the website lead me to believe was in stock - They charged my credit card immediately- Then they told me the item was not in stock so I d have to wait 3 weeks- After 3 weeks one of the parts arrived with a message that my order was now complete- When made aware of the missing part I was told that this was also not in stock and I d get one whenever it would available again with no indication as to if and when that might be Would not trust them with my money another time - there s no telling if and when you get what you have already paid for

Sega planetarium what a pile of rubbish

Good service and delivery speed But sega planetarium what a pile of rubbish Should be worth about 15 Can t focus it images are shockingly bad feels very cheaply made Some of the extra disks purchased are all scratched and one seems to have water damage rendering them useless Never been so disappointed with a product If it wasn t for your returns policy that you don t accept opened returns it would be going back Instead I think it will be going in the bin All the reviews and images online of the planetarium must be fake photoshopped Its nothing more than a cheap child s toy

I have bought a dobsonian 12 inch from them wi fi and electric It worked for 2 months then the engine stopped working After a week of emailing and photos showing i am doing everything right they asked for my leeds and remote control for inspection All of them pass the test they said I have to change the motherboard they war meant to send a new one over after 3weeks nothing on the post called them and said they have to order it from China so for 3 weeks not communication just when I called after 3 weeks they told me they don t have itWait 2 more weeks for the part to come and now the motor is not stopping is just turning until I powerit of I will be asking for my money back

Waited a month for my item offered no compensation

Took about a month for my item to arrive while I understand supply issues happen waiting a month to receive my item is crazy considering I paid 8 for 1-2 day delivery none of which was refunded or any compensation for that matter
