Absolute criminals
Absolute criminals thriving on extra costs Dubrovnik office needs investigating This is coming from someone who is more than savvy when it comes to car rentals and criminal is the only word I can use to describe my experience with them They blamed their agency DiscoverCars for failing to put the terms of the extra costs in the T Cs and held our credit card hold HOSTAGE until we paid the extra charges whether we then wanted the car or not They said they d just charge whatever they needed to the credit card They then tore up my signature when I wrote next to it that I d dispute it and demanded I re-sign the paper which I had to do as they had thousands held on the credit card The quality of car was shocking Filth damaged to the point that the damage chart was so cluttered it was difficult to follow No cleaning whatsoever done beforehand food on seats dusty footprints sand everywhere etc despite clearly stating the car would be clean and decontaminated as per protocol during the pandemic What else Petrol arrived on half despite agreement on full to full and the strop that we received for asking for what we paid for was intense They did this begrudgingly and Staff rude constantly mocking us in Croatian Eye rolling Chainsmoking outside and shouting at us while we re inside At the desk they sprung extra charges including cross-border for the Neum crossing despite confirming via call with that specific office beforehand that the charge was not applicable here When we said we no longer wanted the vehicle as it was too expensive with the whopping 80 extra charge they held my credit card hostage as described above and said they would charge the entire hold amount we re talking thousands if I didn t comply as I had already apparently agreed to all the terms and couldn t pull out It takes a lot to shock me when it comes to customer service but this was just beyond what I find humanly acceptable There s so much more that I can talk about from the experience with AVIA but I ll just say that it s fraud and downright criminal in action This company should be investigated

Goodluck with AVIA Rent a Car
I have another fresh example of fraudulent behaviour from AVIA personnel this time in Zagreb Airport While taking a car from AVIA we were given a vehicle form with several small damages registered and were told there were a few more minor scratches nothing serious Staff even did not go with us to show us the car and the potential damages During the vehicle return they had completely different approach the car was photographed all around even from bellow trying to find any potential scratch for an additional cost and it became obvious that the manager would not let us go without charging for an extra damage The manager focused on one scratch which we confirmed existed when we collected the car but having our security deposit he forced us to pay for the damage despite it not being done by us I stated on the return vehicle form that the scratch had existed on takeover and also lodged a written objection to the company headquarters but received formal response that I had signed paperwork and did not take all possible photos at the beginning so bad luck Reading other similar reviews I see the pattern of fraudulent behaviour of AVIA staff in some stations backed up by headquarters management I lodged a complaint with the Croatian consumer affairs office For future users of AVIA please take as many pictures of a car as you can around and underneath and hope you won t be cheated And good luck

Avoid this company at all costs they
Avoid this company at all costs they are fraudulent I was charged 270 Euros for a stone chip less than 1mm in size on the rear bumper it was existing when I hired the car but as they had a 900 Euro deposit they forced me to pay horrible people a disgrace to there country

Absolutely the Worst Rental Service Possible
Firstly the rental area is about a 10-15 minute walk away from the airport in Split Imagine if it s super hot or raining There are no signs directing you where to go and Google maps had us going in circles We had two flight delays and after 28 hours of travel Avia charged us Extra for being late 4 hours They rented our reserved car anyway The staff was horrible to work with and has zero sympathy and blamed us for not factoring in flight delays or cancellations When we mentioned that we might be going to Dubrovnik they said they had to charge us an extra 80 Euros because we briefly would have to cross into Bosnia Then they charged us an extra 50 Euros for using a ferry We checked several other rental car agencies inside the airport and they all said that they charge between 17 to 20 Euros that covers ferries and travels to other countries Big difference between 130 euros 20 We wanted to cancel our car after less than 24 hours of use to change to another rental company but Avia stated impossible and that we could leave the car but they still needed to charge us the full price I checked with the other agencies Inside the airport and they all said the same that if we were late or returned it early they are no additional fees and we only get charged for the time used We recommend that you avoid AVIA Car Rental at all costs Super rude and hidden fees that are not competitive

My mother rended a car for a month and payed almost 900 Euros to much When my friend who is from Serbia tried to help her by calling them they were extremly rude Do not I say again DO NOT rent cars from this company

Very high charges for any issues
We had a tyre blow out on a mountain road No spare tyre Huge call out fee to come and swap a vehicle We had to wait more than four hours for this in high wind in a small layby Though this was better than waiting for a tow vehicle Then huge fee to replace the tyre No one available to complain to The Zadar office also charge 80 for an international pass even though they knew the road to Dubrovnik had just opened Cars were good and we appreciated the car swap but they really pumped us for the cash

DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM AVIA
DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM AVIA Worst customer service EVER They rented us a faulty car that broke down on our drive from Dubrovnik to SPLIT They sent us a mechanic that said the car had a corroded motor block They failed to send us another car as it was late and they failed to get us any other help so we had to find our own driver to take us remaining way to Split where we had our hotel reservations The driver cost us 180 out of our pocket AVIA did not get us a new rental car until the next day at 2 PM in Split I have emailed the company various times to try to get a refund for the money we had to pay out of pocket for the driver and the company is refusing Sandra Orincic is supposedly the owner and she is refusing to help in any way They are the worst DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM

Never again
Never again I had full insurance aranged at discover car hire but the lady tried everything to sell me an extra insurance for 25 a Day When I reffused my car became from glass and every scratch would cost a lot of money I ve never been so glad when I could deliver the car again They checked every part even under the car Thank God it was okay Never again This was in Split

DON T rent a car from this company We rented a car that broke down in an isolated area We contacted the company they sent out a mechanic 1 5 later When we open the hood the block on the motor looked corroded Mechanic said he couldn t fix it Asked then what are we supposed to do at 10 pm No hotels and only one house that helped us get a taxi to get us to our hotel We arrived at 1 am We ve ask for reimbursement they said to contact corp we did and they said by contract they replaced the car the next day at 2pm Did they expect for us to sleep in the car
