We had fully purchase a rental car voucher online prior to our trip to Ireland only to find out that Avis charged us too almost to the penny for the voucher rate Voucher comp says extra charges were for additional insurances at 8 a day and a fee of 26 to waive the comprehensive coverage because my credit card covers this and I had that letter with me Fees wasnt explained for the additional rates at time of signing in airport They said e-sign here so I did This doubled the cost of the rental Very deceptive practice I think they use when you book through a third party

DO NOT USE AVIS Reserved a car to collect in Geneva When we returned the vehicle in perfect condition and full of fuel Avis invoiced for 120 more than the reservation price with no explanation for overcharging They won t respond to emails or calls Never again Very bad service and complete RIP OFF

Security deposit may take 28 days for refund really never again I asked them are there any other payments required avis rep said no nothing at all 30 minutes later over 200 pounds taken from my account

Booked the car few months ago with avis ie for rental in Spain When completed rental I was overcharged 110Euros Avis first provided incorrect information regarding the reason for overcharge When I asked about which part of the booking agreement allow Avis to charge more than agreed - no answer was provided but suggestion to contact Avis Spain I have been long time customer of Avis I need to now check all past rentals to be verify if I ve been charged more than what had been agreed

Awful customer service Did not give the required information when asked stared blankly and gave one word answers when we were trying to clarify how we could place the deposit holding then waved my partner s driver s licence in our faces while calling out don t want this back then as we walked away to work out how to amalgamate the funds Luckily the friendly advisor at Europcar gave us all the information needed which was the same across all hire companies enough to continue with our hire without losing our money even though this was not up to him to do One piece of advice - go with Europcar their value to treat people with kindness goes a long way

Avis Budget Car Hire - Dublin Airport Rental Agreement No DA7 I was charged for a replacement windscreen on the rental vehicle associated with the above agreement I am disputing this charge as there were two minor chips at the bottom of the screen when I collected the car although I made the mistake of not taking a photo at the time Avis has provided a quote from Flannery Garage amounting to 944 However Flannery is not an independent garage it is owned by Budget Car Hire I requested the last five inspection reports but was denied access citing GDPR I suggested they redact personal information but no reports were provided I have also filed a complaint but have yet to receive a response Additionally I asked for the repair reports for the vehicle as I would like proof that the 944 repair was actually carried out but again no responseI believe that 944 for two minor chips on the windscreen is excessive

Had a good experience at Avis Cork Airport previously but recently - no such luck Super-friendly salesman slipped in some extra insurance which I did not ask for or require

The on line booking was straightforward The assistant at the reception desk in Knock Airport was pleasant I was told to walk around to a cabin about 400m away in the wind and rain to collect the car There was no one at the cabin and there was no sign of anyone in the location I waited for a long time until a representative showed up but he was in a rush He pointed to the car and then dashed off I mean Knock is hardly a busy airport The car was a little Skoda which transpired had a steering issue The car would veer off line with no particular warning It was most disconcerting and felt dangerous Because of this issue I did not use the car a lot during the hire It felt unsafe I returned the car to Knock Airport on completion of the hire and again there was no one at the Returns cabin to complete the hire I waited for a long time again eventually gave up and left the keys in the letterbox Overall the booking was simple although the need for a 2000 Euro deposit was not made clear at the time of booking Reception in the airport was suitable but the service for collection and return was appalling No one was available to talk to about the steering issue Avis I think you need to brush up on the service
