Lost Flights

Have been trying to make a claim for almost 10 months now and still there is no sign of a conclusion Had two small accidents when I was away travelling in 2014 that required hospital visits The cost of the visits was low 400 in total I have been in contact with the company on an almost monthly basis now since January and everytime I get the same response Oh it says here you are missing some details but no one ever knows what details they are I am always told someone will either call me or email me back and no one ever does Incredibly frustrating Luckily I didnt have any serious medical bills or I feel like this would be a nightmare situation Anyways I do not recommend them At all Its basically a black hole for your time money as far as I can tell

I paid extra for beyond the basic package and was unable to recoup lost flight fees as no one was deceased or seriously ill

DO NOT buy travel insurance with this

Received no help from them when stranded in South America during Covid 19 outbreak They did not reply to countless emails and my mother spent hours on the phone trying to get through to them as I could not call from abroad when she did she received inconsistent information and they offered absolutely no help in getting me home We were in Mexico when the Irish government were advising people to come home we were due to fly to Cuba then Jamaica and from there home to Ireland The DFA security status for both Cuba and Jamaica was avoid non-essential travel so we had to abandon our plans and return home ASAP from Mexico As the flights were still going the airlines would not offer us any compensation Some flights were cancelled during our attempts at getting home meaning we also were at the lose of connecting flights that could not be changed to suit the replacement ones in between Even with all of this considered and with my policy stating I was covered for holiday abandonment cancellation or curtailment and government travel advice they said that we were only covered for flights to and from our home country I paid for a worldwide policy for two people for 9 months excl USA Canada The whole idea of backpacking is visiting multiple countries how can they call this backpackers insurance if it does not actually cover you while travelling to and from other countries than Ireland It is an absolute joke Completely incompetent and unprofessional insurance company I emailed their claims department on 19 March did not receive a reply until 3 April with absolutely no information regarding my query just requesting information which I had already provided a lot of so I can only presume this was an automated response and no one had even bothered to read the details I replied on 5 April and have still not received any reply over 3 weeks later I was keen to use this company as it is Irish extremely disappointed and at a huge lose financially DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Went travelling across Brazil and

DO NOT buy travel insurance with this company We were travelling in South America and we flew home in the middle of March before all the borders closed We put our claim through before they said they weren t paying for COVID related claims for flights that we had already booked that the airlines were cancelling It clearly states that we are entitled to a refund on our premier plus policy as the airlines won t pay out We got an email today after waiting over 2 5months saying that they won t pay it Absolutely disgraceful

Would completely AVOID this company

Went travelling across Brazil and Argentina in South america from January 2020 until the end of March Many flights and booked accomodations were cancelled and not refunded They used the covid pandemic as an excuse not to cover anything I have had terrible experience with them months of emails and still no cover The idea of travel insurance is that it covers for cancelled flights theft medical ect This company is a farce and not to be trusted Do not waste your savings and time with them

Would completely AVOID this company I purchased a one year premium policy at the start of the year when I decided to a few months traveling around Asia Due to COVID my trip was cut short and I had to return home and incurred numerous expenses because of it I put in a claim for these expenses which are clearly supposed to be covered in the policy but they refused to pay out for any of them I don t know why i spent 250 euro on this policy as i don t think they would ever pay out any claim and would find any excuse not to pay I also paid for a one year policy and because of COVID travel was no longer possible from April on I was not given any refund for rest of the year which it the policy was basically invalid Stay away its the same as not having insurance
