About 2 months ago I applied for a house to rent in Alton At the same time I gave my information for the mortgage They didn t say anything positive or negative they just ignored it totally disrespectful Even the questions I asked about the heating status of the house I went to rent and the barracks could not be answered properly They just said they didn t know and delayed it I have experienced that they are completely uninterested and unserious

From bad to worse

Started out a great experience which turned bad Terrible management when it came to the sale of my property which resulted in a lot of money and time being wasted They were very quick to ring and ask for a good trustpilot review after the valuation was done however every part of the sales process that came after this was terrible As a result of this the sale of the property has fallen through

Avoid these people at all cost

Avoid these people at all cost our family has been on property for 3 month now We have 2 small children and nothing gets repaired the shower doesn t work properly the washing machine is draining into buckets among several other issues that affect our daily life unfortunately we still have 9 more month to go

Need to be careful

We live away from the property so asked to find a tenant as well as manage it It took months to find the new tenant and the surprisingly electric bill we got for the empty period of the property was more than double compered to when someone was living there We made enquire about it but they did not want to do anything about it and start telling me if we visited and used it of cause not also inventory Clark from Charters made numerous mistakes she did not notice the net curtains were missing that had been taken by previous tenant miscount the number of keys and so on so please be careful to dealt with them

Customer service really bad and do not go through these guys bunch of useless agents who pretend to act professional and act as if they know what their doing but have zero knowledge of customer service and respect Take half a year to act on a request and talk to customer like animal This is the Southampton centre site

Extremely poor service throughout the tenancy

Moved into the flat to find it a state the works agreed to had not been carried out and the flat was barely habitable The management team were exceptionally slow at organising the remediation work and I had to regularly call hassle and show up at the office in order to get anything done This took over a month to achieve and caused a great deal of stress Upon leaving they have attempted to charge me an extra day of rent since I did not return the keys on a Sunday a day that they are closed and have no facilities to drop keys off

Extremely poor service never return calls and communication is appalling People seem to leave constantly and there is never any continuity planning E-mails just ignored Avoid

Wouldn t recommend

Charters are very proactive in relation to getting buyers through your door and getting a good price for your property However once they secured a sale they apeared to wash their hands of the transaction I bought a new build and had something called Express Movers to act as an intermediary between the agents developers and the mortgage company Trying to communicate with my buyers was impossible and any request I made for messages to be passed to my buyers was either ignored or met with and I quote As you are aware the New Homes Group do the direct sales chasing this was from Jo Goodard the Sales Negotiator It would seem then they were paid 4650 for showing six or seven potential buyers and that was about it They didn t chase my buyers or facilitate any interaction They didn t even send an email to confirm the Sale Thank me for their payment or even read the meters If you want to an agent to find you a buyer quickly I can t recommend them highly enough If you want you poor service your emails ignored a sense of apathy and complacency from your your agent so they can sit back and wait for their fees after that point they re very good at that too

The agency is very good however their appointment of Just Move In caused many problems when I moved into my flat causing excessive bills and disputes for months

Tale as old as time pre-tenancy management excellent extraction from previous tenancy painful

I had reviewed extremely positively at the end of April when I found my new home so this is an EDIT to my original review with no prejudice to the staff I previously rated 5 It s such a shame Edit date 21 06 23Since moving from one Charters property to the next Charters property more than 7 weeks ago I have found the process of regaining ANY of my disputed deposit tortuous and difficult I m hoping this will be remedied soon and is no reflection on the previously well reviewed staff members but it s been a really unfortunate experience Below is my previous review of the lettings agents who showed me the properties and were fab My second experience finding a new home with Charters has been as good as the first Thomas Andrews and Sarah Bainbridge have been charming and helpful and I ve really appreciated their flexibility and promptness
