Excellent

Now ive already reviewed this course elsewhere so i ll keep this one brief Theres a hell of a lot to take on board in such a short amount of time and at the beginning i was concerned HOWEVER due to the excellent tuition of Mark Percy i was shocked at how engaged i was from start to finish and the way he made it possible for me to absorb all that information I guess you have to trust all that experience I would strongly recommend learning on site in the class room

PL-300 DA-100 - We read free Microsoft material for 3 days

Having only heard good things about firebrand from colleagues who have attended courses Specifically the on-site learning in Bedfordshire I booked training for myself and a member of my team to get a better understanding of PowerBI It was a disappointment to say the least The slides had incorrect information after MS had updated from the DA-100 to PL-300 Partially not the trainers fault but it has been a while since the update The trainer didn t know PowerBI as in depth as a trainer should and was asking myself and my colleague answers to the handful of questions others in the course had The actual learning we did was just the free Microsoft Learn material delivered alongside an ebook No exam preparation was discussed or particular points of note highlighted to memorise for the exam as you would usually get on training courses aimed with an exam at the end Not even time limit number of questions how to allocate time etc We both passed the exam though nothing we learnt on the course but instead due to having previously completed the AZ-900 DP-900 and PL-900 as well as already having done the free Microsoft Learn material we thought this was going to be a 12 hours day deep dive as advertised and watched a few YT videos The only useful thing we did get was the measureup practice exam which we could have purchased ourselves for 150 instead of the 2 500 we paid Just book your time out go to the library or a quiet office for a few days use MS materials watch youtube videos read some articles on what materials others used to pass and maybe purchase a practice exam if you think you need it

Firebrand cyber security worthless

I recently started a Firebrand cyber security bootcamp I am no longer on it as I had the misfortune to end up in hospital for 2 weeks so got removed from the course stupid me for getting hit by a drunk driver and not taking my laptop into hospital to so I could attend the lessonsI just wanted to bring up a few points about your course 1 They have a number of eligibility criteria to study yet don t seem to bother to check them or even ensure people are eligible In the cohort I was in there was someone from a foreign country when I thought it was a UK government scheme Someone working in the Cyber industry and 2 people at university with 1 of them studying a Masters in Cyber Security Others had absolutely no idea what Cyber security and couldnt answer basic security questions Which seems to go against their criteria 2 For a subject that requires lots of understanding of technical information the people teaching us English was not their first language they used incorrect grammar they used the wrong words and had accents so strong many words were said wrong Two examples of this are Threat which came out as Treat and Causes which came out as cows 1 of the tutors would often say the words blar blar blar when he wanted to skip bits 3 In 40 hours of teaching I learnt absolutely nothing During the success couch sessions all we did was listen to how everybody s weeks had been where we had been what we had done and if lucky got regaled with peoples shopping trips The break into the industry sessions what an absolute joke the teacher actually took time to say how to fill in the profile form with such gems as where it asks you if you can drive If the answer is yes put yes If the answer is no put no If you can but have no car put yes but say you have no car 40 minutes was spent on what you should wear to an interview Now as everyone on the course were adults and I am guessing they had to fill in form for the bootcamp or other things in their lives Was it truly necessary to explain to people what to wear to an interview The other teaching sessions which were meant to be teaching about the Cybersafe exam which are truly truly basic questions but didn t but he kept saying this isn t needed for your exam but I am going to tell you anyway or this information goes beyond the information you will need to pass the exam or is more advanced then the course you are doing The teacher knew some people hadn t done the exam or failed but he kept teaching things people didn t need to know just more time filling 4 Firebrand has an obsession with social media Every session we were told to sign up for a different social media platform We were told we didn t need to but then told that only certain course information could be found on different social media sites We were told to set up social media accounts such a LinkedIn and accept friend requests from strangers so we could network Social media being one the most targeted area for viruses at the moment lots of cyber security companies recognises that it is a growing threat and discourages this behaviour yet Firebrand actively encourages people to do it I feel very let down by the teaching I was given and the incorrect information imparted

Cyber Security Bootcamp

Applied for Cyber Security Bootcamp which was advertised as gaining qualifications over 2 000 1 exam was free through Microsoft and the other 2 were under 200 if I had to pay for them myself During the CISMP course the teacher taught us all the wrong information and we were all told not to read the CISMP book as it wouldn t help us pass the exam and to trust him he s seen the exam he knew what questions were going to come up he couldn t have been more wrong as barely anything he went over came up on the exam and all the correct information was in fact in the CISMP study book Was also promised an interview with an employer on completing the bootcamp however noticed any thing they were recommending were with companies not even paying a national minimum wage at this point I made the decision to leave the bootcamp and I have gained more by leaving doing the free microsoft courses and paying for my own exams that will actually gain me a foot in the door of a national minimum wage job atleast
