A representative turned up on a Thursday as my mother was about to head to the shops After being told numerous times we are not interested in solar panels he would not take no for an answer so my mother agreed to the consultant coming the next morning purely because she had things to do and he was taking up valuable time The following day she called the rep to cancel the appointment and he became somewhat aggressive with his sales technique and the consultant still turned up The consultant was just as pushy and patronising I advised him I would be the one paying for the panels because I own the house and any finance would be in my name and I am simply not interested at this point in time and if I was I d be sourcing quotes and reviews from other solar panel providers When he finally took no for an answer he said enjoy your 600 bills which at the moment isn t really that bad compared to other households If and when I decide to get quotes for panels I won t be contacting this company for quotes in the future If their rep turns up at my house again I won t be as polite as my mother was Rude arrogant patronising staff Edit to add no one has tried to get in contact with me aside from the response to my review Considering none of my personal details are included on this review and I will not purchase from Smart Energy due to the conduct of their staff towards myself and my mother

They can t give you a cancelation number if you cancel why not because you guys don t want to cancel if someone asks can u say scammers for sure

Terrible company you may be on the phone by 2 plus hours trying to get through with something important about your bill I seem to be calling them regularly about the bill They just leave you hanging on No phone back or anything

The UK company trading under this name needs improvement Communication is poor They had to change the specification of my install and have can never provide an accurate proposal of the agreed price They re also unable to give any install estimate after 9 weeks of paying a deposit Maybe they re taking on more installs than they can handle or need to improve some business processes UPDATE - I finally spoke to someone today from the UK team A painful conversation where it felt a little like I had to explain to them the price they d agreed and for what and remind them I paid the deposit 10 weeks ago In any case it transpires they ve held my 20 deposit for 10 weeks without ordering any equipment I was originally told mid-August they just needed the roof rails and could then install I m left out of pocket with no install date and no confidence it ll ever happen I d recommend not using the UK based division of this company who are trading off what looks like a good Australian reputation

Installing a solar battery through this company was the biggest financial mistake of my life The charming slick young salesman reeled us in with promised savings that failed to materialise My power bill increased twelve times and my power consumption apparently doubled Investigations seemed to point to power box wiring installation issues Once made aware of the cost blowout issues Smart have failed to respond and investigate the causes despite numerous promises to do so Finally I had to seek assistance from Work Safety in my state whose inspector identified connection issues which have today been attended to by the original contract installers at his behest Smart have stonewalled me at every turn and there is NO WAY that I would recommend this company If you want a solar battery buy it elsewhere

These might be a good company in Australia but in England they suck They took our deposit in June 2022 and we still do not even have a date for when they are going to fit the solar panels we have ordered Their communication is awful and we feel like we have been scammed by them Do not give them your money

This is the second time I ve written this review the first one I took Dow because they promised to fix well they didn t My solar was installed by young green installers that damaged my roof and took a couple short cuts that resulted in mistakes make The salesman promised I d be paying the solar off at the cost of my electricity bill and after 5 years I d not be paying bills Well in summer my bill has dropped maybe at best by half but in winter in my area it s lucky to be 10 of my usage The sales person i felt with is a liar that only cares about sales I m being pressured to take review down and now they ve written to trustpilot asking them to take it down

To date I have been waiting over a year Jan 2022 since installation for a N I C C Certificate Electrical Compliance and safety The handover pack was so late in arriving I have missed the ability to extend the warranty on the Inverter The installation resulted in 27 rents in the roof membrane the largest of which required the threat of legal action to get paid for On a plus side the equipment supplied by Givenergy is outstanding I cannot recommend this company AVOID

I ve recently had a Smart Energy solar system installed in my property A short time after installation I had an issue with my cooktop After checking fuse box had not tripped I came to the conclusion the cooktop was broken Approx 600 later I was informed by an electrician that the cooktop was not broken Instead he stated the fuse box was not re-wired correctly I have brought this to the attention of Smart Energy and for over 2 weeks I m still waiting on a reply My waning to anyone thinking of installing with me Smart Energy is that they will brag about their outstanding customer service after installation However in reality I ve yet to see any Regards STILL WAITING

John from Smart Energy although he states he s from Ameren called our place of business When he began asking for names that have never been employed here we could tell this was a solicitation call We hung up But John No John called us back multiple times still trying to insist he s with Ameren This company preys on people not listening to where they are from and asking specifically what company they are with He told me straight out Ameren until I pressed him Then they were just rude Would never recommend anyone accepting their services Very scam like I see Harry responded with a phone number that could never be completed The phone number that harassed us 773-245-1015 Received calls from the 800 Service number today-can t remember her name but she states I have the wrong company When I do a search using the phone number John called from the Smart Energy website comes up with a number to call 773-225-6159 Same emblem as the Australian company Websites look identical minus the us and au Perhaps you should be reaching out to the Chicago based company you are connected with They seem to have the issue-not the Australian based company But you are one in the same
