Worst experience-smart energy-what a joke

Worst unprofessional company I have ever dealt with System installed 6 weeks ago and still not working No telephone call or correspondence to let you know what is going on I would not recommend to use this company to my friends or work Colleagues

Battery was working fine until I started paying for it Battery hasn t been charging since then No one has been in contact with me yet Very disappointed

We had our battery installed a couple of weeks ago it worked for two days and then stopped charging we kept ringing up to report but weren t believed until we changed out internet so they could see that it wasn t working Now nothing still waiting for help

Still Disappointed

So here we are a month on from my first Review on 11 January 23 As requested by Smart Energy in their response on 13 January I contacted them and identified myself fully It took a few minutes searching to find that I was a legitimate customer apparently I was one of five with the same name and my account was hidden behind the others This I found interesting as I m led to believe that Smart should be monitoring the performance of the solar battery 24 7 I was also informed that the reason for the poor service was that my contact had unbeknown to the company been very ill and was no longer in their employ No record of my documentation as supplied was found nor could access be made to the former employee s emails Are you serious I was asked to explain my calculations on the financial loss and to re-supply the documentation I chose not to resupply the documentation as that had been sent to my initial contact who it appeared was still employed On numerous occasions when questioned I denied that I wanted financial recompense only a working solar battery that provided the promised outcomes following installation In the end it was agreed that a maintenance inspection would be conducted To be fair I was told that this would take time to arrange However one month later this has not occurred and I have received no further communication from the company nor been issued any update s I am more than happy to issue a positive update and Review for Smart Energy but as of the time of writing for obvious reasons my original Review of 11 January stands UPDATEThe reply from Smart Energy below was submitted more than a week after phone dialogue between Blaire and myself when he advised he had attempted to contact me more then twenty times During our two phone calls he was again insulting towards me in his comments and I informed him that i would end the second call and the reasons why I followed this up with an email questioning why after apparently trying to contact me by phone so many times he had not thought to send an SMS or email me using the email address already on hand I also advised him that any further communication between us would be by email only The final upshot was that I informed him that I believed it best for us to go our separate ways and agree to disagree on this whole matter I will not be contacting Blaire again

Installation went well No complaint If you re an avid solar energy enthusiast Think carefully before deciding to go with this company If you want to see your self consumption vs solar export Beware that this company will charge you an exorbitant amount to have a smart meter install They failed to inform the customer about this add-on which in my opinion should be included in the first place Very poor selling practice After sale care is somewhat OK If you are expecting someone to pick up your call then they did just that But expecting solutions to your issues not soo much 03 05 2022 UpdateSmartEnergy has never reached out to me to discuss this SmartEnergy has never made any effort to resolve mitigate this issue Please be extra careful when dealing with this company Arabella Customer Success team finally reached out to me We came to an agreement that they will cover the fitment cost of the smart meter since I have bought the meter already out of my pocket 04 05 2022 UpdateSmartEngery arranged their electrician to come out and have the smart meter fitted Big thanks to Arabella and Smart Energy team for making things right

Good service from Smart Energy generally However conflicting information was provided by my retailer Enova Energy and the Smart Energy installation contractor and two local electricians who replaced the power box on my house as advised by the retailer s smart meter installer This which blew-out the meter installation to 4 weeks and counting The retailer Enova explicitly states in their literature and by phone that my solar system had to remain off until the smart meter was installed with no clear reason s why Conversely the system installation contractor and the 2 local electricians who installed my new power box stated the new system could be turned on at installation completion This information conflict needs to be resolved and better explained by retailers and system installers to customers and the requirement for a replacement box should have been assessed by Smart Energy in the first instance given it is potentially part of overall cost of the solar system

Convenient service Smart Energy managed the whole process arranged for the installation and completed all the necessary paperwork easy and simple but a little expensive

A problem that was dealt with and a decent outcome

EDITAfter posting a one star review we were contacted by the branch manager for smart energy to discuss our experience Liam was kind and considerate and very apologetic it was clear that the poor service we experienced was not necessarily a reflection on the company so much as a reflection on one staff member who was having a bad day That staff member has contacted us to apologise and we were given a gift voucher as way of apology We feel that they did well to recover the problem and make it right with us So we have changed our review from one star to 3 stars However we will be keeping our original review here as a benchmark for anyone else who may deal with the same problems we had in the future ORIGINAL REVIEWWe were door knocked by Yossi a lovely guy who was incredibly helpful knowledgable and friendly Unfortunately that s where the good things ended we then met with Eli who was supposed to answer any questions and give us a quote - He was awkward and rude the moment he stepped foot in our house he often would answer questions with I don t know or I don t care he even answered a few questions with you just don t know anything about solar if you re asking that I mean DER that s why we ve got you here We have never seen such a rude and dismissive sales person in all our lives The whole thing was extremely awkward and uncomfortable We rang yossi back to thank him for his service and won t be continuing with this company Apparently we were marked as quote hunters because we explained we didn t know anything about solar and we re trying to do some research as to whether it is right for us and our home
