Our Through-Lift was initially installed the wrong way round

Our Through-Lift was initially installed the wrong way round so when the maintenance engineer attempted to carry out the first service he was unable to access the working parts Consequently the lift had to be reinstalled correctly It works OK but the remote controllers have to be pressed very precisely and very hard to bring the lift up or down

Pre sales was great after that it s been downhill

Pre sales was great as were the contacts we had prior to placing the order sadly it s gone down hill since We waited ages for installation Many folk came to survey the house I had no idea so many were needed I was not informed about any single arrangement Those coming said this was a regular problem recently 5pm the night before fitting was due they sent an email not even a call to say it would be delayed despite the fact I d double checked the week before and asked for confirmation in writing The fitting team were polite and professional and cleaned up etc They kept me updated and explained what was happening Then when waste was to be collected there were problems more was there than was booked and paid for apparently I phoned Stiltz to explain They would phone back when they finished a call I m still waiting I reported there are cracks in the ceiling which appear to come from installation phot on file but no explanation about options The only proactive contacts we have had since installation a month ago was the bill offering additional cover and marketing However as we are waiting for a third engineer to address errors I didn t feel inclined to go for more insurance Variety of error lights Another that we couldn t have two people in our trio Worryingly the lift was hitting the side of the sleeve Now there is a judder and one of the Stiltz vibrates We have only had it for one month Disappointed doesn t cover it Keen to get the sale But one it went to installation team a lack of communication Difficult to get through to report errors No one is standing back to say what can we do to make this trouble free The lift looks good The company has a good reputation However the experience of arranging fitting and post fitting have been very poor in our experience sadly We were offered a Stiltz lift installed by a third party that was cheaper and quicker but decided to stick with the company It s too late for us but would suggest others consider this as an option This way you get the lift which looks good and hopefully will work But avoids the lack of communication and care we have experienced

Great installation poor after service

We were very happy with the installation of the lift and are pleased with the simplicity and style of it A neighbour demonstrated the Stiltz lift he d had installed and also told us about the annual maintenance charge There are three areas post installation matters that we are disappointed with i A maintenance contract for 5 yrs costing almost 3 000 our neighbour pays just 100 for an annual check No reply has been received to the letter we wrote about this many weeks ago ii the lift stopped and after trying to restart it we used the emergency phone to contact Siltz no one responded to the two calls we made It was a Saturday evening and if I d been alone would have been v worrying iii the day after the installation I noticed a small chip in the front of the lift door l I phoned to mention it as long term we wanted to be sure that if it created a difficulty Stiltz would be aware of it Twice I raised it with Stiltz and was told someone would phone back to date no one has However the lift works quietly is unobtrusive an asset in aiding access

We have had the Stiltz Trio for a year

We have had the Stiltz Trio for a year The design is very nice looking But there are some operational issues that leave much to be desired The 2nd floor cap or floor plug is lifted when traveling from ground to 2nd floor When descending the cap drops into place to cover the hole between floors Frequently the cap does not drop into place like it should when the elevator decends I must physically manipulate the cap to pop it into place Another issue is the lift makes an awful noise on descent as the roller guides travel I am convinced it is due to poor alignment of the frame structure the lift rides inside of If we had it all to do over we would have purchased a different elevator

Disappointed

Although the lift has many good features and generally works very well as it should for the money we were disappointed in not being advised initially of the full ramifications of having to have a fire seal The noise is quite intolerable and the fact that one is left with what can only be described as an industrial plate on the floor in the upstairs room as opposed to carpet to match the room Also on advising Stilzt through their customer service department we were told someone would be contacting us but we never heard a word Such is life

disappointed

My lift has been installed in my West Australian home I have been disappointed The ascend descend controls are too sensitive to slight changes in pressure Consequently on many trips the lift stops part-way and the control has to be pushed again Secondly on about one in twenty ascents the lift stops too early so the door will not open I have to descend several feet and then re-ascend

The good and the bad

The good Stitlz provided an in house lift for my mother-in-law which she was very happy with and it enabled her to move around her two story house for a number of years The bad service charges and renewing the guarantee seemed to be very expensive especially as the engineer didn t need to complete any repairs during any of the services When my mother-in-law passed away just before a guarantee renewal period was about to start it was incredibly difficult to inform the company of this I emailed no response then called the company when a message was left on the answer machine at my MIL s house On this occasion I spoke to 2 different people and had to explain again one member of staff was incredibly insensitive and seemed just to be out to get more money out of us to uninstall the lift A few days later I got a call from another member of staff about us having requested a lift removal we had not requested this Then finally another call about a week after that asking about renewing the guarantee again Each time I spoke to someone they had no idea of the situation and it seemed there was no system for communicating internally when someone dies This makes things difficult for relatives having to explain over and over again that their loved one has died I really think the company should have systems in place to deal with this situation given that they sell lifts and a large proportion of their clients are probably elderly and frail

The Trio+ is a three-person, wheelchair-accessible model featuring a gently-angled ramp and automatic door for easy entrance and exit, suitable for users with walking frames or wheelchairs.

Stiltz home lifts stand out due to their small footprint (the Duo+ covers less than one square metre), whisper-quiet operation thanks to a self-supporting stilt and guide system, and fast installation typically completed in one day. They use a through-floor lift design with dual rail technology and a self-contained drive system, requiring only a standard power socket and eliminating the need for load-bearing walls or hydraulics.
