They will not offer early settlement I have been paying back on a 12000 debt since 2019 I now owe 4600 I had a bad time in 2013 and I had to default on three credit cards totaling 27500 Cabot got hold of the main debt in 2019 and I have been paying them since My gripe with them is that my two debts to the other debt companies intrum was one of them were reduced by 25 percent and I was given twelve months to clear the reduced balance Cabot will only allow three months to repay and don t even offer a reduction I received pointless e mails telling me that if I was to pay 800 per month for six months the debt would be clear This is hardly expert advice I have been turned down constantly with requests to pay over twelve months with a reduction I have made a complaint about one agent Aaron who said you have been told several times that we cannot help you So I have complained about his attitude This will not go anywhere as they disagree with every complaint I make It appears to me that Cabot are going to make me pay back every single penny The sad thing is that I played along from the start and made payments If you do this they will be on you like a limpit I ve just checked my account and apparently I m being referred to the legal team again Peter

Is this a scam company They call me and hang up 3 times a day When I call back they offer to remove me from their records but begin calling the next day No one has ever stayed on the phone long enough for me to ask why they are calling I imagine when you call back they charge you for doing so and that s the actual business Looking at the false 5 star reviews and the more genuine-looking 1 star reviews this looks like it s an overseas scam company

Disgusting customer service
Still awaiting a response from money that was paid to them 26 November in error All you receive is generic responses with a complaint number saying it is being reviewed Complete waste of time ringing the complaints line they have no idea what they are doing and just keep repeating a script which has nothing to do with the issue I can only assume all the glowing reviews are purchased as they seem totally unrealistic and way over the top I just want my money returning

DREADFUL EXPERIENCES
Dreadful experiences with these people my Wife is being harassed by them for a debt which they refuse to prove she owes She has asked for the Deed of Assignment to prove the debt is legally owed to them but instead they have ignored that and continue to write and email They have already had to shut down claims for both of us on other debts they could not prove

Scummy company that buys up sub prime debts like pay day loans They pay a fraction of the value of the original debt They then expect you to be grateful that their helping you manage your debt by paying Cabot the full value A truly grubby business that will bombard you will phone calls

Need trauma training
After many unsuccessful attempts to set up a plan online I had to call I explained I was not up to conversation as had recently lost my mother and am experiencing traumatic grief I explained this loss as being the reason I was behind with payments Despite my pleas to be able to sort it online I had to stay on the phone for over 20 minutes as the eMail was still linked to a former account The authentication code was being sent to an old number despite them bombarding me with calls on my actual number When I explained I was finding the call stressful I still had to hold for ages I am hardly talking to loved ones so to only be able to get a plan set up by having to discuss on the phone when not up to it is a disgrace Please ensure staff are given extra training in how to deal with customers in distress

Further to my post of 24 01 25 I have received further notification from this company that they will not accept any reduced offer at all on my debt So basically I have to pay them all of the remaining 4500 Bear in mind that I have already paid 8000 to them over the last five years I have offered to pay over twelve months if they would consider a 20 percent reduction but to no avail and they now have the nerve to tell me that they are sending my file to the legal team again despite me making payments My mental health is terrible and my blood pressure sky high I have informed them that their approach is not helping me Their reply once again laid no blame at their own door If I was ignoring them and not paying anything I would understand all this However I have always paid and that is the problem Peter
