I have hired with Europcar and l can definitely say they are a fraudulent company Whenever l do an extension they will tell me a certain amount and guess what that s not the actually amount they will

I have hired with Europcar and l can definitely say they are a fraudulent company Whenever l do an extension they will tell me a certain amount and guess what that s not the actually amount they will then charge double that amount and say it s for taxes and fees I advise you all if you hire with this company don t extend your reservation When you call customer service they won t help and say it s taxes and fees etc why not tell customers the full amount instead of leaving out about more than 50 extra charges that come with extending

AVOID EUROPCAR CAR AT ALL COSTThere are many hire companies out there but sadly Europcar is not the one to use and I would definitely never recommend them or use them ever I had a hire vehicle from them through my insurance company and 11 days after the vehicle was off hired I received a text message saying they were investigating damage that illedgely happened in my hire period 11 days later a text not even a phone call and definitely something I am not responsible for You can t of course speak to a human on the phone as their complaints procedure only allows there staff to hind behind a keyboard firing off emails and texts Interestingly enough when you scan social media I don t appear to be an isolated complaint and theirs too many customer experiences that suggest them taking money from people s accounts for damage this would appear to be a bit of a buisness trend for them I can only give you the benefit of my experience and I would never deal with them again or encourage anyone to use there service D Turpin at least wore a mask

Beware of the Gatwick Office

It s such a shame when an employee of a firm can be so destructive reputationally to them I made a complaint about a young man on the desk at Gatwick over 6 weeks ago and am still awaiting a response despite being promised feedback after a week The young man in question had clearly taken aganist me which was unfortunate as we had been travelling all day were tired and was hoping to pick our our pre-booked car from the airport without incident However this individual seemed to have decided that our business was unwelcome and proceeded to make this simple piece of administration as difficult and irritating for us as possible Little tricks such as demanding that I wrote personal details on a post it that were already on the booking form conduct DVLA checks that i had never been asked to do in the past fill in paperwork with details already given and change the booked vehicle for a completely different vehicle which ended up further as a completely different vehicle once in the lot collecting it he gave us a Skoda which clearly was our punishment for daring to challenge him -I m pleased to report that the Skoda was excellent and I enjoyed using it It was all rather surprising I ve been hiring vehicles fairly frequently for over 30 years and Europcar was even our contractor at a couple of firms where I have worked and we never had any issues I have filled out countless booking forms had my license inspected which is clean and long standing and never had a claim on a hire ever Perhaps one of their bods will see this and finally deign to respond to this very annoyed customer one day

AVOID Europcar Oxford Scammers

Europcar Oxford tried to scam me of money for some damages were already on the car Short story On pick up they offered their insurance that would double the rental price and I refused They bought the car outside and I asked for the existing damages report on the car that I was not provided with and I ve been told that they are aware of all damages and I will not get charged for them I took a video of the car in many angles that saved me probably paying over 1000 in damages fees On drop off the guy looked around the car for 1 minute the came to me and said that everything is ok and I will receive my deposit back in 4-5 days I left and then the scammer went back to the car took photos of 2 scratches and added them to the drop off report and said that they were new ones I never found out until one week later when I received an email from europcar with the claim against me for 2 scratches on the car I asked for the drop off report and I couldn t believe when I saw the pictures of the scratches in the drop off report I cannot stress enough telling you how important it is to have videos and photos taken on the start of a hire as they will do everything they can to take some money off you Be safe

No serious response from Europcar

In response to my previous review of Europcar they gave me their standard response solution please contact our service department They simply ignore that I am talking by phone and email for now 4 Months to their service department bureauocracy In fact that department act as a defence to providing any service at all We have to stop this I am sure their response automat will again advise me to contact their service department What a company Can this be stopped Please look at the response by Europcar It s as expected and presume a robot response No possibility to talk with real persons with a mandate to really be of help Asking for a supervisor is also useless

I was their regular customer

I was their regular customer but will never use their services again because after one incident feel like they stole from me I was using Europcar branch at the London City Airport and rented Fiat 500 on December 18th 2024 for two days Had no accidents returned the car safely only to be told I ve made a damage to the front windscreen A tiny two dots visible only from close I m 100 sure they were there already but they weren t documented I did took pictures of the car on the day I ve got it but the problem is that the pictures taken were from the few steps away and although you can see something is there but if you zoom in the picture becomes blurry and the damage is not exactly visible It s so small like 1mm you can barely see it from close So now they ve froze my 500 deposit ant investigating the matter Investigation is already going for more than a month no indication when it might end But even if it did happen maybe without me noticing the damage is so minor you could literally find 50 more scratches this size throughout the vehicle I mean it wasn t a new car to look at a dot and say you ll need what to replace the screen And what is there to investigate for a month and ongoing I m a single mother working two jobs to survive these 500 are very important for me but the the company doesn t care Also I would like to point out the extreme rudeness of the Europcar employee who examined the car upon it s return She noticed the damage straight away as if she new where to look and was acting aggressively towards me Didn t allow me to take the picture of the tag with her name on it and did not write her name on the Statement of Return report she wrote Unfortunately I don t remember her name now at the moment we spoke I felt under stress in part because how aggressively she spoke I will forever regret the day I chose Europcar

Charging for petrol that was already done

My insurance hired me a car as my disability car is being repaired at no fault of my own but after a few weeks they asked for the car back that s fine so I had it cleaned inside and out that cost me 40 so I didn t get anything to say it wasn t clean and the fact I m a nice person always give it back in same condition and I filled the tank to its capacity literally went over the full tank line BUT yesterday received a text stating I owe them 54 53 for fuel Thank god I took photographs and they were dated as they trying to pull a fast one I m not paying for fuel when I had already filled it not my problem what your collection driver done when he left my property The customer services is terrible takes over an hour to speak to anyone and even then they are not interested just say email us with your concerns absolute joke I emailed over 30 hours ago and have nothing back yet No doubt someone will reply to this with contact us no you contact me as your in the wrong

Horrible

I had a terrible experience at the branch in Maidstone on 23rd January 2025 My car booked for 8 00 AM wasn t ready and I was told I d have to wait until 3 00 PM The excuse I booked the night before after closing which the system allowed without warning After waiting nearly an hour they tried to upsell me a replacement car for 20 more per day I refused and the manager eventually approved it at no extra cost but I was then charged 12 13 daily for insurance instead Adding to the chaos payment delays due to system issues made the process feel rushed and unprofessional My order number was 1185232517 This experience was stressful disruptive and unacceptable I wouldn t recommend this branch

This is one of the worst car rental

This is one of the worst car rental service you would ever use We reserved a car on 24th Dec 2024 and paid for it to be picked up at Innsbruck airport When we reached at the airport pick up the Austiran team told us we have not paid so we paid again In our back statements we can clearly see two transections paid to Europcar but the customer service is only talking about taking and releasing our deposit This company is fraud as they charge customer twice without even giving an explanation

Take it or leave it next time I ll leave it

Booked Mercedes A class arrived to find didn t have so getting free upgrade to a Nissan Queried to be told I was getting bigger car an SUV so it was an upgrade Advised it was just me so didn t want an SUV as driving 500 miles would rather the premium brand for comfort Told they had other Mercedes but they don t give them for one way rentals charged extra 78 for one way so it was take the Nissan or nothing In addition to drivers licence DVLA share code and credit card all which was expected I was then required to provide a passport provided UK licence and then told they would do a credit check - don t know if checking for bankruptcy CCJ or credit limit to value of vehicle Won t be using Europcar againSurprising reply from Europcar telling me to contact them using the link which is just their generic raise a question page Clearly not interested
