Damaged item bureaucratic return procedure UPS is a mess

After having waited for a guitar for almost 3 months and finally appeared on stock received my desired almost 800 Euros guitar damaged I was inspired and took pictures of the parcel the very moment UPS agent handed me the parcel The cardboard box was damaged and hoped the guitar was fine well it was not it had neck cracked Wrote Thomann and they replied to send them pictures as an investigation with UPS a damage claim was to be opened They did not accept to send them directly the parcel and accept refund but to wait for UPS to pick up the parcel and inspect it at their damage hub Called UPS and the next day they picked up the parcel but for few days nothing was updated in the UPS system only that a damage claim and investigation was on the way Yet the third day Thomann contacted me and said that UPS informed them that the parcel has been in their hub and accepted my refund After that within few days my money was into my account Yet it has been a bitter experience for me first of all I have been waited for guitar for months and it run out of stock within few minutes after having it ordered No replacement was possible I could not blame Thomann entirely after all they accepted my refund in short time but the experience with back and forth emails phone calls has been traumatic for me Guess that as long as Thomann is aware that UPS is a mess regarding shipping should have been more cautious and packed the parcel more carefully within more cardboard boxes Should I order from Thomann I probably would but not expensive stuff As long as they and other retailers do not have besides the cash on delivery Thomann does have it and check on delivery procedure as well as it is in Romania I will not order an expensive guitar from any other retailer we should be protected by check on delivery before paying cash

Never had a problem with them directly

Never had a problem with them directly but the postal company they choose to use is dismal Please find a courier other than DHL as Everytime they deliver anything for me it seems to be a problem and a lot of people share the same view Just check their reviews on here I understand a business is all about profit but paying a little extra to keep customers happy would be a worthwhile investment It took a few days for my order to land in the UK and it s been with DHL for over a week and it hasn t left the depot in that time Everytime I try to get answers or a delivery I get the run around from them Not happy Can someone contact them and follow up my order please Order 202344 407613Thanks Josh

Disappointing experience

I ordered a Harley Benton PJ-5 SBK at the beginning of January Thanks to a bad combination of Thomann and DHL I received the delivery after 2 weeks I opened the package and realized that it was a 4-string bass instead of a 5-string one I contacted customer care who almost expected this to happen I needed the bass to practice for 2 weeks and for an audition on January 25th The operator asked me to send photos of the bass and the various barcodes on the box After attaching the phone it took 3 days to organize a collection by DHL Of course they had to make sure that I cooperated by returning the bass before proceeding with the shipment It seems right to me that they should ensure the correct procedure regardless of the inconvenience caused to me But let s move on After responding with one email per day I received the shipment email from Germany on the 3rd day I finally received the bass on January 24th I didn t have time to practice for my audition on the 25th I still have to try the bass but for now I advise to strongly consider all the aspect of ordering from this site Or if you must make sure to clarify things and put the right pressure to ensure that you receive the right product

Shipped B Stock to me

I ve used Thomann quite a number of times with no problems However our recording studio placed an order this December including an audio interface DPD delivered the order in one box without any exterior damage but I opened it I found that Thomann warehouse had included a damaged high value item inside The exterior and interior box was pierced and squashed I was concerned and asked for a replacement I ve spent the past two weeks with customer service who were quite awkward On two occasions they offered me money back to accept the b stock I d received and paid full price for I declined on both occasions They complained it would take 20 days to return to them and clear customs They refused to rush a replacement so we had to reschedule our recording project There was no apology on their part Finally they ve agree to collect the item I haven t received an email notification or any receipt of collection It s pretty poor

Totally fine but probably bad for the world

Totally fine and decent products The prices aren t as competitive as they used to be compared the local music store but that s somewhat a good thing since there s only one left in Stockholm due to every one else closing shop probably due to Thomann A net negative for the world as a whole but not entierly their fault The workers at Thomann are great not completely sure about the company

They charge over 30 shipping a harmonica Be aware However they did let me cancel my order

Disappointed - website descriptions could be better

Initially very disappointed that I inadvertently ordered Forestone Black Bamboo reeds that did not fit my German Uebel clarinet as it is the boheme system The reeds were German Fit - as far as I can tell Thomann do not sell normal fit Forestone Black Bamboo reeds for the Boheme system I ended up with 6 unused unopened sealed package reeds that I could not use Thomann initially said they were not prepared to accept a return However the head of customer care subsequently advised me that they would accept a return I think the website should have been much clearer in saying what clarinets the reeds fit especially when marketing internationally and given the prevalence of non German Fit systems In the end I found a mk uch better solution outside Thomann so my issue is resolved without a need to return to them

UPDATE Thanks to the superb assistance of Team Leader Riikka I am pleased to update my review to confirm that my issues have now been resolved Thank you Riikka If I could give Zero stars I would So called no quibble 30 day guarantee is a farce Stated policy on website Within the 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee period faulty items are immediately if available replaced with a new item This saves you from long waiting times for repairs and from having to make do without your gear Order received with one element damaged Rather than simply replacing damaged element I am expected to repack and return whole order So I am having to make do without my gear
