Don t buy a Barratt home honestly save yourself the hassle While they may have dealt with minor snag issues quite quickly they suffer larger issues due to what I can only put down to cheap labour Numerous properties in my development suffer sewer smells from bathrooms or drains and so far they have failed to take the issue seriously 8 months of living with on and off sewer smells god help me when I try sell this place

I liked that Barratt homes is the top builder for homes in the UK But the delay in providing the possession is highly frustating I purchased a show house and they kept using my garage as their office space just because their new site office was not ready They wouldn t even provide a discount compensation for the same Another problem was a continuous back and forth regarding the design of the property - they kept changing their mind about where the car enters the property from

Been trying to get 1 broken balcony tile replaced since 15 July It takes them weeks to reply to emails we were originally referred to the tile manufacturer who doesn t deal with private individuals so we went back to Barratt Speaking to them on the phone is not helpful either No ownership from customer service and we ve had a hole in the balcony in the middle of the balcony that we re having to cover up and avoid going near cause it s unsafe Update They ve reached out via phone the next day provided a delivery date for the tile via email and booked a date for installation Changing rating from 1 star to 2

The reservation letter provided during meting with waterside staff has few issues as it was different from the one I signed at the sales event held in HK Would be great if 1 Agent sales to know the appropriate values to be used in the form 2 the signed form could be shared Barratt staff for continuity and 3 I was contacted by additional solicitor client side which was different from the solicitor assigned at the sales events which caused confusion

Sales department was excellent They passed on information from the construction team who clearly had no guidance or idea when the property was going to be finished We were told the property would be complete by April 2023 The contract stated June 2023 We completed January 2024 Quality of build looks ok but to date have only had half an hour inside the property to look

After 6 months you are reliant on emailing the New Home Customer Care team for snags I ve had problems with tradesmen who attend to fix snags saying they ll report back to the central team on outstanding actions and Barratt will be in touch to let me know when to expect someone to come out to fix However they never seem to actually report back Last year I was left with a hole in my bathroom wall for months This year I ve had a broken front door lock for a month so far The team seem to push back on snags much more than I experienced with my previous new build by a different company Having to go back and forth with them is a frustrating waste of time

Congratulations to all of you who have had such great experiences with Barrat Let me tell you that down the line you may regret your decision I live in one of their properties which is 20 years old The standard of build is shoddy and much of it done on the cheap The building is full of leaks in inaccessible areas where communal pipes are difficult to locate behind walls under floors etc Barrat don t even have a copy of the plans of the building that we can look at to source the leaks So not only did they use poor quality materials that haven t stood the test of time they re so badly organised that they can t help when help is needed They ll read this review and simply say what they said to me - we don t keep plans for such a long period So for the sake of a small space in a filing cabinet people who bought a property from them on good faith must continue to suffer I hope Barrat are proud of themselves Well done also to the shareholders who profit from this

I ve been residing in one of the properties managed by this company for just over a year and unfortunately my experience has been less than satisfactory From the beginning there were noticeable issues with the property s construction and maintenance Upon moving in I immediately encountered problems with the back door which wouldn t close properly due to dropping issues and a cracked glass panel It took an unacceptable amount of time for someone to address these issues leaving my back door open for days a significant concern especially with young children in the house Additionally despite being instructed to stay off the grass for the initial months to allow it to establish the garden has turned into a swamp full of moss This indicates significant drainage issues that haven t been appropriately addressed Unfortunately it s not just my property glancing out of my window reveals similar problems across the entire estate Inside the property the bathroom door handles have eroded and are falling apart and the ventilation in the bathroom with no window is inadequate leading to moisture buildup Overall my experience with this company has been disappointing There seems to be a lack of attention to detail in construction and maintenance resulting in various issues impacting my quality of life on the property Moving forward I hope the company takes concrete steps to improve its quality control responsiveness to maintenance requests and overall standards to ensure a better resident experience

Flat is nice but i was disappointed in the size when i went in after seeing the showroom my new flat is not the same yes i know i got floor plans but i wished i had been able to see my actual flat before the missives were signed i did request this but got told only workmen were allowed on sitebuying a house flat is the biggest purchase one person will spend on so it is vital that it comes up to their expectations speaking to other people who have done the same they have had a chance to see their new house flat wearing hard hats etc Barretts should permit this too

Hello we live in black down heights in chard and we had a new front door fitted only last year It is getting more and more difficult to unlock our front door as the barrel is going on the door Please could you get someone down to look at the door as it must be under guarantee and we can t afford to get it fix And to be honest we don t think that the new front door even fits properly ready I must say I m very disappointed and will certainly rethink buying another Barratt home You put cheap grass in the garden which is all dying and I m not very impressed with Barratt homes
