We arrived at the agancy office to pick up as agreed at 8 30 pm At 9 pm they told us the car was dirty and that we need for 30 more minutes to get it When we complained that we have plans and that we have booked 8 30 on purpose the guys just laughed us off and said to write a written complain So here it comes Out trip in Iceland starts with friendly and warm welcome and good service provided by Blue Car rental

I had a bad experience with my rental First I did not get the size I ordered I wanted the smallest car with the best mileage but got a bigger car with a worse mileage I know that they don t guarantee the class but still Second their webpage explicitly say that they have new cars The car I got kia ria had over 100 000 km and did not have cruise control Driving along straight roads in Iceland with virtually no traffic without cruise control is absolutely awful Instead of enjoying the views along the road you constantly must keep your eyes on the speed indicator to make sure that you don t go over a speed limit Iceland has numerous speed cameras Finally my car had an issue with a fuel tank lid It would not respond to the knob inside the car which was very frustrating Accidentally I figured out that I had to jiggle the lid so it would begin to respond to the knob which I had to do during the entire trip I should admit that when I returned the car the agent did not have to tweak the lid I regretted that I didn t make a video When comparing the price with other major brands blue car rental is comparable but they do include some insurance though with a steep deductible But if you credit card covers it I would go with major brands

I went with Blue Car Rental because they were the company that was part of a package I bought for our trip to Iceland I wish I did not They were extremely shady in our dealings with them and we were not surprised when they arbitrarily typed a number on a calculator to let us know we owed them close to 400 for I kid you not a small piece of fragile cardboard that was missing from underneath the car I have no idea what the deal with this was but we had to catch our flight of course so we didn t have time to argue I told them politely mind you that I did not want to hear from them again and I left Days later probably out of spite they sent me an untranslated letter in Icelandish while charging me an additional fee of around 80 for reasons I am still not clear on They said I would be contacted again and of course I never was this is over 5 months ago They are crooks who prey on tourists and who should be avoided There are multiple other car rental companies I can t vouch for the rest but you d be better off trying your luck with any other car rental companies as you can t go worse than those thieves

THIEVES please rent from bigger and more serious companies hertz avis ecc we bring back the car in perfect conditions except for a 3cm scratch on the back which was probably due to a rock we had gravel road assurance The operator said it was due to a collision with another car not true We accept anyway because we trusted them to lock 1000 one THOUSEND euros from our bank account and the operator ensured us that they will evaluate the damage and give us back the difference after 2 weeks they stop answering e-mails and charge us all 1000E without any further explanation BLUE CAR RENTAL ESSENTALY STOLE there is no other way to say it US 1000E BECAUSE OF THEIR DISHONESTY I DON T RECOMEND THIS COMPANY GO FOR A MORE POPULAR ONE EVEN IF THE PRICE IS LITTLE HIGHER AT BLUE CAR RENTAL YOU WILL RUN THE RISK QUITE HIGH TO BE SCREWED if someone from the company would solve this maybe I will change my mind but by now don t go for blue car rental

I would not recommend to anyone to ever rent a car from this company STAY AWAY from Blue Cars and Cars Iceland We rented a car for a week and returned it all fine There was a tiny and almost invisible dent that could even be there from before and we missed it while checking it out Even in the case scenario that it got cause during our car renting period they wanted to charge us the astronomical amount of 120 000 isk 800 euros for something that is obviously not costing as much Not only they caused us stress to pay for this while we were already stressed to catch our flight but they also ripped us off and I now have to follow up with my lawyer This was a clear robbery and a mental abuse

Ordered and payed for a Corolla Diesel back in februar 2018 when we should pick up the car in Keflvik at 26 july 2018 they just told us they dont have this diesel in there program I ordered a Diesel for its more torque at the hills and etc They offered us an Auris gasoline but we have no other choice than take that car Not so economic as the Diesel and need so much torque to drive in They knew the situation about the diesel for 6 month but nobody phoned or send us some emails i will never use that kind of company again they are not with there customer So recommandation to other customers take a known company like Hertz Avis Sixt with a good feeling for a customer Blue Car Rental shame on you

Typical gougers profiting from tourists who are in a hurry to catch a plane Charging anywhere from 700 to 1500 for the slightest scratch Their interpretations of the insurance conditions may be the subject of a comedy theater show STAY AWAY

Please stay very far away They are opportunist thieves and expert deceivers I ended up paying more than double the ammount originally expected They even told me that the deposit I paid upfront was for use of the agency website and to obtain a special rate They have no concept of fairness dignity or respect

- Refused drop-off at hotel despite stating this was permitted in emailed literature- Did not include ice scraper in middle of winter- Refused to assist pairing phone with Bluetooth a feature included in rental- Notified midtrip by text message that emergency roadside service not available for second half of rental period- Charged 4 500 ISK for thorough research to identify I was the person renting the car when I received a ticket for going 11 km over 90 km limit due to lack of cruise control then refused to even tell me how to pay ticket

It was a very cold windy and snowy night when we arrived The car they gave us had a good 3 of snow all over it We got the windows desnowed and deiced We went on our merry way had absolutely no incidents car worked perfect had a great time in Iceland until we got back to drop off the car They said there was a new small dent on the wheel well of the passenger front This was news to us We never encountered anything at all during our 8 day rental Well I told the girl it wasn t done by us She insisted it was Treated me like a common criminal when I again told her it had to have been there She said I should have taken a pic when I got the car she repeated that several tomes and I told her several times that when we received the car it was covered in 2-3 of snow so what good would have a picture done Again she said sir you have to pay between 900 18000 USD or she would call the police on me So we caved in and gave her another credit card Never in my life have I been treated like this DON T RENT FROM THIS PLACE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES And btw this vehicle had multiple places where there was damage and when I asked why the other places had not been fixed prior to my renting the vehicle she said that they actually don t fix the vehicles STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
