Some good and some poor

Good 1 Getting my rent on timely fashion2 Every 6 months go check the health of the property3 Communication with Sellers when neededPoor 1 SLOW in getting tenants and processing new clients I had 2 of friends whom I recommended OneRent and they both decided to leave OneRent because of the slowness in response My friends actually helped oneRent to list their own properties on Zillow Craigslist etc and forwarded multiple leads However these leads were never followed up with thus they moved on to rent other properties and my friends as landlords had to suffer financial loses due to delays in getting renters

Fair value

So far I have had a fair experience with Onerent They charge 5 which is lower than most property managers They deposit money into bank account on first of every month as per contract The times I had issues were when the contract said I would be keeper of deposit money and I had to chase it down with my manager to get the money deposited else they did not have it on their radar for the money to be deposited Similarly I have been looking for clarifications on some repair invoices that I received for a month and have not heard back

We requested Onerent that we want to

We requested Onerent that we want to move a basketball hoop from the property that was not being used and is lying down near the driveway Onerent did follow up with me several times asking when I was going to take the hoop Unfortunately the handyman that I was asking to help move it was not available for 2 weeks When Onerent offered to move it for a small charge I accepted the offer and asked Onerent to move it Roughly one month passed since then and there is no action from Onerent In general there are some things onerent does well and there are some areas for improvement As a home owner I get a feeling that onerent has a slight bias towards renters than home owners

Growing Property Management Startup

OneRent Poplar Homes still feels like a growing property management startup In our experience they definitely do their best to assist all renters and owners but we ve had inconsistent response times to requests and inquiries Sometimes it s immediate other times there was no response It may have been simply growing pains as their team became larger Beverly and Anthony were really nice to work with when they assisted us with move-in move-out and repairs Our situation was also very unique because the home owners lived above us and we ended up having a good relationship with them So at times it felt odd unnecessary to do a telephone dance with OneRent who would then speak with the owners upstairs and then cycle back

Renewal

OneRent was prompt in sending early reminders of the lease renewal They made sure ample time was given to landlord to consider next steps Tool wasn t working as expected I entered the renewal decision in the Tool and I still receive a renewal reminder a few weeks later I had to re-enter my decision and don t hear back from OneRent renewal team I had to send a follow up email to the renewal team to confirm if tenant accepted my renewal decision OneRent could do better in communications

I had a few concerns with Onerent

Overall it was a positive experience with onerent however there were times in which it seemed the communication between owner tenants and one rent was disconnected I would be talking to the owner and we would come to a common understanding and when communicating with onerent it was a bit disorganized I will say once April Crisanto took over as the main communicator things were a lot smoother She by far was the best employee I interacted with Overall would recommend as my feedback was received by onrent and they made adjustments

Pleasant experience

I own a home in Mountain View and was moving away so figured I d try to rent it When I started the planning process we found Onerent to be professional pleasant and helpful The trend seems to be common in property management that tenants all despise property managers on Yelp It s not often the positive side comes out publicly but I know this team is working hard to improve and they seem to have the property owner side down well

Friendly and Professional

We have been with Onerent for almost a year and it has been a smooth experience Paying the monthly rent is simple and easy and they also have great active communication They are responsive when it comes to addressing questions and or concerns as well as scheduling the inspection So far so good

Nice to get a reminder

Onerent was definitely our advocate during our maintenance requests as renters Although we didn t get exactly what we wanted no fault to Onerent we were able to find a solution that worked for us They constantly kept us up to date with the progress with our requests and were very friendly and professional on the phone My family and I would definitely rent with Onerent again in the future
