The efficiency and convenience of using

The efficiency and convenience of using gleam is great it s such an easy platform However we ve had 2 cleans now and the cleaning was done to a average poor standard Are they actually cleaners The bathroom was not cleaned properly surfaces not properly wiped bits still on floor after its been vacuumed It s a shame we will try to request a different cleaner

Substandard

I booked a one-off clean with Gleam for an event I had planned for in my house with the intention of continuing with the service However when the cleaner arrived he was quite personable but at the very least his work was substandard Luckily I booked I had a day s grace between when the house was cleaned and the day when the event was due to take place I duly booked another cleaning company who put things right I will be interested to see if someone from Gleam responds to this comment because I didn t receive a response to my message of concern I sent to the company after my poor experience The reason why I m commenting now is that I received a referral incentive from the company all without a response to my original concern My comment reflects genuinely and earnestly my experience with this company I am simply not in the business of fabricating stories in either my professional life or my personal life I booked the cleaner for 3 5 hours to clean 4 rooms which incidentally were not heavily soiled - I had been away for 2 months and had returned the day before to a significant amount of dust When the cleaner arrived he asked for specific I m not sure if this translates as appropriate cleaning products which I do not normally use at home He accompanied me to the shop where we purchased the products That took a total of 15 minutes When we returned he made up the time and I paid him extra in cash He worked for a total of 3 5 hours I used one single email address when I made contact with them so logically if I received a single one-off service from this company how could I possibly have used multiple email addresses It makes no sense On the same night that I received this company s services I duly filled out an automated response form which I imagine would have been automatically returned to them I simply cannot be held accountable for any failings in their IT systems The email account I use to post reviews on Trustpilot and Google is my business account therefore to be absolutely candid I have two email accounts In accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 I asked the company to remove my data from their records because of their less than helpful email to me My experience should not stop you or any other person or persons from commissioning the services of this company

I wouldn t recommend

I wouldn t recommend - the service was just not a professional level sadly First cleaner did a surface clean every time she came despite us paying for three hours - she never moved items to clean under them just around them which we could do ourselves The last time she came she didn t even touch the main bedroom rugs were left unhoovered mirrors were dirty and sides were unwiped After I complained they reallocated a second cleaner who subsequently didn t show up on two separate occasions I also didn t appreciate that if you book a regular clean you re then locked into a ridiculously long contract 45 cancellation fee if you cancel beforehand which isn t made clear upon booking I ve given them two stars as customer service wise are were very quick to respond however I d avoid as in our experience they are not professional cleaners and don t show the level care you d expect for the price EDITED AFTER THEIR RESPONSE I think the outright rude tone of their response tells you all you need to know about the company I posted this at 9 30pm on Saturday night - if you understood Trustpilot you d know it takes a few hours for them to process reviews Highly highly unprofessional and not only that factually incorrect EDIT AFTER THEY EDITED THEIR RESPONSE They ve now edited their response to moderate the tone

Cleaners are great but customer service is non existant

The first cleaner we had from Gleam was amazing the house looked brand new However we were told that the cleaner could not make one of the cleans just a few hours before- this probably wasn t her fault and the company didn t put anyone in her place Then we were given another cleaner without any warning just a name change on an email I don t think that the customer service is very good from Gleam so for this reason I have left this company Good luck to future customers of your brand but please try and put the customer first replace cleaners in advance if they cannot make it don t just cancel the clean completely A telephone number would also be useful I waited days to get a response on the chat function about cancelling all cleans with you and it s also impossible to cancel cleans online- you have to contact Gleam directly

Not for end of tenancy cleaning

End of tenancy cleaning is offered but will not meet the grade Customer service element is to redirect you to the cleaner independent that provided the cleaning rather than taking responsibility as a company providing a service Do yourself a favour and book an actual end of tenancy clean through a recognised company You think you re saving a few quid you won t be when you have to get the flat cleaned again to get your deposit back Very average

Extremely unreliable

Extremely unreliable they keep accepting the booking then cancelling at the last minute less than 24hr notice when I d booked 2 weeks in advance If you re not sure that you can commit to a booking for a customer don t accept it in the first place When we eventually did get sent a cleaner she did a poor jobDon t bother

Tried 3 different cleaners

Tried 3 different cleaners None were up to standard Even opted for the pricier clean at 17 99 h and I believe they just sent a different cleaner No more qualified than the previous Disappointing as the online booking system works well

Do not use

Do not use Cleaner never came and no way to contact gleam except by email Edited cleaner came 30 mins late with no notice until i contacted gleam by email And very slow on what s expected I usually clean my whole house for 2 hrs including laundry I booked for 3 5hr still missing living room to be cleaned

Hit and Miss

Service with this company was hit and miss Although paid for three hours cleaners would often leave after two hours The service was unreliable with cleaners often cancelling on the morning of the clean I find the company a little odd - on its site it mentions that they have been featured in the Guardian Telegraph and City FM but when I contacted these papers they had never heard of the firm and could find no reference to them Some cleaners were ok and some were terrible The last one spent all the time on their phone and managed to put a large scratch on the floor The company never replied to my email about this and still charged a 45 exit fee The company is based in Ireland so I imagine any legal dispute a customer may have with them would be a nightmare

Gleam basically do what it says on the tin just hope you don t need to speak to someone or make a complaint

I provided feedback regarding the cleaner Gleem provided on 2 occasions for which I have never received a response There s no telephone number for the customer services if there is one and the email request for a call back doesn t seem to actually result in a call back The had no hesitation collecting the payment this evening though To be clear I m not looking for a free clean I would like someone to call me back to discuss arranging a new cleaner who I can trust will clean my house and will be proud of their work I d rather not have to ask them to redo things because they haven t been thorough Looking forward to seeing what kind of response Gleem will provide Update After I posted this review I got an email from Gleam apologising for not responding sooner due to weekend backlog They agreed to change my cleaner and refund 1 hour of cleaning The following day I got a call from them and we discussed what had happened and reconfirmed that I would be happy with a new cleaner and the refund was a welcome bonus I received an email last night asking if I would remove my review on the basis that I was happy with the outcome of my complaint to which I responded that I would update my review and provided I was satisfied with the new cleaner I would change the rating I initially gave 1 star Second update as agreed gleam refunded 1 hour of cleaning and has changed my regular cleaner So far so good It s just disappointing that it took a bad trust pilot review to get some kind of action
