Is this a safe bank to hold your money
I applied for account in January after delays and extra paper work an account was finally issued in May Mostly the delays were from Customer service who are terrible at replying taking weeks in some cases I feel this is normal for the bank and i m not sure my money will be safe here At best if I feel if an issue arises i will be waiting weeks for any assistant I have decided after all the effort needed to get an account I will not be using it I totally distrust this bank and i don t even have an opened account

Probably some of the worst human beings
Probably some of the worst human beings work at Standard Bank and Old Mutual Their world view and reality is what they are indoctrinated through HR Working with people from these companies and the bad corporate values they foster their toxic politics and disdain for people whether customers or fellow colleagues reflects in the poor regard for people and services they render Everything takes forever and barring a few that really want to help most will sit on their work for days doing nothing about your problem Slow slow service and action Their policy and processes cement it

Poor customer service
I tried to make an online payment for plane tickets with Standard Bank online payments What a struggle I called their customer service went through a whole verification process to no avail Eventually transferred my money to my Capitec account Voila Instant payment Achieved my goal in 5 minutes while I have been struggling with Standard bank for hours Shame on you Standard Bank Very porr customer service

I received a VERY VERY poor service at Standard Bank Funeral Insurance Having to wait 18mins on the line and after getting through to an agent I was transferred to 5 difference departments No one knows and I ended up dropping the line due to frustration I an cancelling all my policies with them I can never recommend this Bank to anyone Very incompetent consultants

Worst service for non-resident account
If you are a non-resident account holder with Standrd Bank South Africa this is for you As non-resident account holder you won t have access to any direct banking channel other than sending emails Getting response on these emails is worse than the old postal system At least those days I fully expected to wait for a week or 2 to get a response Now with emails you won t get a response in any reasonable time If time is of the essence look for another bank If I could go 1 I would

Vehicle asset team useless Been with them for over 10 years yet they treat you like another number in the queue I ve moved over to bmw finance and will never use standard bank again Lost out on 2 deals because they either too slow or they don t give a crap I ve also had people I know move their banking away from this useless bank I will also be moving my banking elsewhere 1 star is the minimum I can rate but I d actually rate them minus 10
